Wow I went from watching GT/Clemson to Marquette/Villanova. Great hour of basketball right there as both games had intense finishes.

Not only did he lose his guy, but McNeal forced the play on the last possession and instead of passing it, he forced it and took a bad shot. Then for the game to end on him losing his pass, he has to be depressed.

Great finish, I feel bad for McNeal losing his man like that though, musta bee so focused on the ball handler. I'm kinda happy Nova won though, I think UL/Nova will be a much better game than UL/Marq IMO.

Scary that we almost blew that game, but what a finish. YEAH NOVA!!!

Heartbreaker for Marquette. Hopefully, their luck will turn around in time for the dance.

Time to gear up for the tournament. We are still a number 1 seed almost no matter what. Congrats to WVU...but that game was utter bull ****. We played as bad as possible and missed so many layups. Plus it looked like we didn't really care to be there and WVU was really motivated. No excuses this year. We can't complain that we are wore out because of the BE tourney.

Why can't the Big East line up some quality officials for the Backyard Brawl? These two teams have played three times this year and each game has been horribly officiated IMO. They don't really favor either team, but there's some pretty strange calls (i.e. the technical foul on Blair and the time that Blair just threw a WVU defender out of the way after Butler was called for a foul on nearly the same move).

I agree...that was one of the worst officiated games I have seen this year. Pitt didn't hit one three...missed a bunch of layups and WVU made more than 20 FTs (and they weren't garbage FTs at the end of the game)

I guess but I still don't think we can win anything w/o Dyson.

The Big East is so good it's ridiculous, on any night the best team can fall which is why I expect this Syracuse v UConn game to be a battle.
Tough loss for my Marquette Warrior/ Golden Eagles today

Let me first say that I am a diehard Pitt fan for over 30 years. I have two degrees from Pitt, and have been a Pitt professor for more than a decade. I bleed blue and gold (hell - I am writing this and I can see the Petersen Center from my office window on Forbes Avenue).

After tonight's game, the best thing that could happen to Pitt is to get a 2 seed on Sunday. There is something about this Pitt team, in that we just do not show up at crucial times when we have a lofty position (#1 ranking, double bye in the BE tournament). I swear that I will be happy if we get a 2 seed on Sunday, and, I am going to feel uneasy if we back our way into a 1 seed.
