Wake plays the dragon slayers, Cleveland St in the 1st rd. I'm like everyone else in saying that that game is a toss up. If Wake shows up and plays then we could get to the Rd of 16 and I'd be ecstatic to see a great game vs Louisville.

It'd pretty much be like a National Title game for me, because I think Louisville is the best team in the tournament. I'd be very happy just to see the 2nd weekend. Then it's just play your heart out against Louisville and leave it out there and see what happens.

However, Ohio State may have some problems with getting there.

I wouldn't be too upset. Bucks have to get passed Siena and play their best game of the season to hang with Louisville. I bet Louisville has as many or more fans there, its only like 2 1/2 hours or so.

If Kansas gets to the final 4, they would definitely have earned it. It looks like they would have to go thru WV, Mich St & L'ville.

This region has some juicy potential Sweet 16 matchups. I would love to see those athletes from the Cards & Deacs go at it. & Kansas v Mich St would be a great undercard.

usc, pitt and kansas are my teams that i root for and i dont see kansas getting far, they'll either lose to west virginia or michigan state.

pitt i could see going all the way, but they always slack in big game situations.

If we get to the final four Bill Self should get another raise.

Definitely. This is the Region of Death.

So Cal - Hot like fire.

WVa - They can hang w/anyone. Only 2 of their 11 losses could you question.

Bos College - Beat dook & Carolina, but I think they maybe one of the 4 weakest teams in the region.

Arizona - Beat 3 division winners, including Kansas.

Five teams won or tied for their conference regular season title & Wake tied for 2nd in the ACC.

Dayton plays good defense and are athletic, but their big men are pretty weak and they have very few outside shooters. They routinely play 12 guys, which allows them to exert total effort on defense. Haven't seen much of WV, but if they're a typical Huggins defensive-minded team, it's probably going to be an ugly (i.e. low scoring) game.

WVU plays tough, physical defense and when they go to that 1-3-1 with Ebanks at the top, they can make life difficult for anyone. They are very long and athletic and usually control the boards, especially on the offensive end. Even when they aren't shooting well, their 2nd chance points usually kill opposing defenses. For the most part they run a disciplined offense with a lot of patience and ball movement and really make you work on the defensive end.

The fact that Dayton plays so many guys worries me a little. WVU isn't very deep at all and are thin at the guard spot, however the bench guys that do play are just about as good as the starters and you really don't notice that much of a difference when they're in. If Butler or Ruoff get in early foul trouble, it could get ugly for the Mountaineers. I'm not sure how much Dayton presses but WVU is either all or nothing against the press. I've seen them consistently turn the ball over against good pressure some nights, and other nights they break the press textbook style and get easy buckets out of it. It's usually hit or miss. As of late, they've been handling the pressure pretty well and Ebanks has given them another option for bringing the ball up the court, aside from Bryant, Ruoff, and Butler.

I'm not sure what will happen, but I truly believe that WVU will win this one by 10 - 15 points. I would love to see them match up with Kansas in the 2nd round so I hope that's the case anyway, assuming Kansas wins. I think WVU could surprise quite a few people in this region.

That is a key point for West Virginia. WVU has virtually no size and they always struggle against dominant big men (UConn, SU, Cincinnati, ect.). That is relieving to know.

I tend to think West Virginia should win this, but I guess we'll see.

We have shotblockers. We have athletic bigs. We just have real trouble guarding the big bruisers down low. We can't guard 1 on 1 and we usually have to front them. That being said, a quicker big man can be guarded by us. Wellington Smith is pretty underrated when it comes to that and I love Kevin Jones as our best big defender. He's got the meat to guard the bruiser while Wellington is a better weakside guy

Likewise, looking forward to throwing down a few beers and watching the game without worrying about work the next day.

The Big Ten gets a tough rap becasue we don't win pretty but Big Ten teams traditional do well in the tournament becasue we play tough defense and don't just run and gun the entire game uhem.....ACC....
OSU played their worst game of the season against WVU so thats not a good measuring stick of how good this team is. I think OSU beats Sienna but seriously, no way we be UL.
