What a gutsy win by Pitt. I was going crazy at halftime, but our defense showed up. Then suddenly there was a lid on the basket and Blair and Young were missing layups they have made all season...then FIELDS happened. WHAT A ****ING SHOT!!!!!! He has been so clutch for us over the years.

Hand it to Xavier, they totally out muscled us in the first half (which I didn't think was possible). Blair was playing like a total puss, but they finally grew some toughness in the second half and Fields was the difference at the end. (also, don't overlook Young's two free-throws at the end, FT have been a problem in the past).

X played one of the better halves I've seen from them all season in the 1st half. Then they played one of the worst in the 2nd. You can't miss so many chip shots. 18 points ain't gonna cut it. They should've won the game. Rather disappointing. Despite losing BJ and CJ, the Muskies gain Jordan Crawford and a couple of others. They won't let you hoops fans forget about Xavier.

Congrats to Pitt and their fans! Good luck the rest of the way, guys!

Nobody considers Memphis or Gonzaga a mid-major anymore.

No one should really consider Xavier or Butler a mid major any more, either.

So far this Mizzou/Memphis game is probably the most entertaining start to a game of any in the tournament. Very fast pace, great hustle by both teams.

I had no idea you all had never even made an Elite Eight before this year until a few days ago. For as good as Pitt basketball has been lately, that's terrible. WVU made it to the 1959 NCAA Championship Game, so WVU has had more tournament success than the Panthers. Take that Pitt!

LOL! It's not very convincing when your team bows out in the first round, and then you come here and rag on a team that is playing in the Elite 8.

I will give you guys credit though. You put it on us in the Big East Tournament. We haven't been right since that game.

Your team played us really tough tonight. You controlled the game in the first half, and if Levance misses that 3 with 40 seconds left, you would have had the ball, up 2 and on a 7-0 run, with 40 to play.

That was a great Sweet 16 game. There have been so many times in the past when Pitt was on the other end of that big shot (I still remember a buy named Barry Goheen who played for Vandy in 1985).

Does anyone else think Tyreke Evans reminds them of Paul Pierce? I know he plays PG but the way he takes it to the hoop really reminds me of Pierce in his younger days. He's not overly athletic but hes really strong and gets to the rim at will and just finds ways to finish.
