Harangody may be done for the year? Just heard them talking about it during the G'Town/WVU game. I thought he was on his way back.

Give Georgetown credit. They could have given up when they were down 26 but they battled back and actually got within 8 or 10. That was going to be a tough game for them anyway on an emotional Senior Night for Butler and Smith, but all things considered they put forth a pretty good 2nd half effort to make the game respectable.

I didn't expect a win but I did like the play of the youngster Sanford and Monroe was solid. Clark was horrible and it took a while for Wright to get it going. WVA is solid though. I never knew Jones could shoot like that. They rebound well for a team that doesn't have a lot of size.

Everyone knows about Butler and Ebanks, but for most of the season Jones has been the most consistent player on the team as far as scoring and rebounding goes. In my opinion, he's definitely the most improved player in the Big East this year. Last time I checked, I believe Jones was 7th in the conference in 3-pt FG% at nearly 40%. That's not bad for a 6'9" guy not known for his perimeter game. LOL

They are very long and athletic, and all of them work hard for rebounding position. Huggins preaches rebounding and defense and he doesn't hesitate to pull someone if they aren't doing either one of those. I think that's why this group of guys crash the boards that way.

Monroe is a beast. I thought they should have fed him the ball more the other night, especially late in the game when the lead was only 9. We didn't have an answer for him. If we could close out a game and put 2 solid halves together for once, we could be very dangerous. I've not seen a complete game from this team yet this season.

Difficult to put into words how bad this UConn team is. After an early lead tonight they were outscored by ND 35-15 for a good stretch- an ND team without Gody and with Abromaitis being held below his season average. An ND team with virtually no true front line players (no one over 6'8), UConn should have destroyed them in the paint and on the glass, like in their first meeting this year. But this team has no heart and no toughness. Seniors who have started for four years (Dyson and Robinson) being benched for not playing hard or for making stupid mistakes that some freshman don't even make.

Can't believe this is a Jim Calhoun team, they are an embarrassment.

What do you guys think about Andy Rautins being Big East Player of the Year?

I know he probably won't win, but I think he deserves the award. If you've watched SU play, you know he's the team's most valuable player.

I agree that he's Syracuse's MVP, but there just isn't enough there to warrant him Big East Player of the Year. He reminds me a lot of Alex Ruoff and his role with the Mountaineers last season. He is the glue that holds everyone together and does a little bit of everything, but doesn't really stand out in one particular area. Rautins is a great team player and definitely makes everyone around him better, but he's not a POY caliber player.

                  Good comparison there.

I wonder who will win the award? Wesley Johnson could get it but he really hasn't had any "monster" games since he injured himself in that first Providence game. My guess is he'll still win, although Butler from WVU could be in the mix and Scottie Reynolds from Nova.

Embarrassment is the right word. 06-07 team was terrible, but at least they played hard, they were just young and inexperienced. 05-06 team lost focus at the end and blew a chance to win a championship, and that sucks, but it happens sometimes when you have a team that talented. This should never happen. This team has had so many games that should have been wakeup calls, but they just don't get it. No heart, and no leadership. I think Kemba will be a good leader, but he's only a sophomore, it's Dyson, Stanley's, and Gavin's job and no one wants to do it.

I still say that UofL will be a better team next year when Sosa isn't running the show. Also, be glad when Delk is gone. Seems that Pitino puts too much stock in him simply because he's Tony's nephew.

Anyways, UofL would really benefit from a win vs Syracuse. If not, hopefully they can win 2 in the Big East tournament and I think that locks us in the Big Dance.

All I know is Saturday is going to be a very emotional day. Not so much for the Seniors..although I'll miss Jerry Smith, but the last game at Freedom Hall. I've been attending games there for over 20 years...gonna be hard to say goodbye.

You're still in Storrs, right? Plenty of rumors (granted there always have been) that Dyson is a cancer, thinks his own **** doesn't stink and to compound things is at the bar six nights a week. Any insight on that or other stuff you're hearing on campus?

Even if that stuff isn't true, Dyson is my least favorite player in UConn history. Can't stand the kid, he's a dog.

1979: Georgetown Beats Syracuse at the Final game at Syracuse's Manley Field House. At the Press Conference after the game, John Thompson uttered these words that ignited one of College Sports most heated rivalries: " Manley Field House is Officially Closed".

Louisville may have the crowd on their side but I do not believe they will get Syracuse twice this season. Syracuse knows what to expect from the cards so I do not think Syracuse will get stung twice. The good news is if Syracuse does win, I do not think Jim Boeheim will rub any salt into a fresh wound.

Butler's had a great season but the past few weeks he's been slumping. I think Reynolds will probably get it. Johnson's a good player but I think he's a little overhyped and overrated and don't really see him winning the award. I know he'll never even get consideration for it, but is there a player in the league that means more to his team than Jones of USF?
