No clue but that was kinda embarrassing, I can't remember the last time UConn fans stormed the court. Probably 15 years. Then again they are just college kids so let them have their fun, and it's a rarity that Gampel has an atmosphere that good so I'm glad the security guards didn't dampen the mood.

The reason I usually don't have problems with storming the court is for the exact reason you said, its college kids. How many times in your 4 year stay at a university do you get chance to do it? Saying that in some instances its just unnecessary like Minnesota-Indiana but when you knock off a number one I can see why its done.

Not if you're ranked. You should only storm the court if the other team is in the top 10 and your team is unranked at the minimum, although it's better if you have a losing record.

I was at the game and I stormed the court. I figured I'd do it for a lot of reasons. One you don't get much oppurtunities to storm the court as a UConn fan, plus the fact that I barely get to go to games there. Plus Texas was technically #1 and I read a stat that UConn has never beaten a #1 overall team except when they beat Duke in the Nat'l Championship, and that doesn't really count. Also the UConn players were still on the court, so why wouldn't I want to celebrate with them? I don't regret at all storming the court, it was pretty fun.

BTW, that was the loudest crowd I can ever remember at a UConn game. Gampel was really going nuts.
I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.

Absolutely. Andy Katz said it was the loudest crowd he had heard in the last few years, and Doug Gottlieb said it was the loudest crowd he heard on TV all year.

See this is where I disagree to a degree. A program like Clemson who has always had their hearts ripped out by UNC should be able to storm the court when they beat UNC. Also Kansas State which has beaten a number 1 team 3 times in their history should be allowed to especially given that Kansas State has never been considered a basketball program. My last reason is simply its college students who might only have one or two chances to every storm the court, so who cares.

But the problem is that if every team does it when they beat someone half-way decent, there's nothing special about it any more.

I still think it feels special to the student though which is why I have no problem with it for the most part; but we will just have to respectfully disagree on this.

Texas is more than halfway decent, and UConn hasn't done it since 2000.

The post was about Kansas State and UNC, one of which will be unranked this this week. Even still, UConn is a program of the same caliber as Texas.

I think those that talk down about kids storming the court need a fecking hobby. Who cares? How does it affect you?
