It's all based on money, surprise. They want to put the teams that will draw the most television watchers during the "prime time" games. The only game time I've seen for next week is Kentucky - Cornell at 9:57 p.m. That game is in Syracuse, so that is a 9:57 local time tip. That is crazy. I also bet that the Northern Iowa - Michigan St. game will be in one of the prime time slots on whatever day they play. The NCAA puts the teams that will draw the most viewers in the best TV time slots, plain and simple.PSN: Koolie_G

It really sucks we have to wait until late week to see more games.
At least the NIT can hold me over some, I guess.Comment

And so begins the countdown for Kentucky/Cornell, by far my most anticipated Sweet 16 matchup.
It's Sunday and i'm already brimming with anticipation. Also super psyched for MSU/N. Iowa.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

The good news for Cornell is that the Syracuse game starts before the Cornell game, the bad news is they are still playing Kentucky. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

The Cornell game scares the hell out of me.. We don't defend the 3 well at all and that's what they do best. Cornell isn't just some Cinderella team, they're the real deal, which you never know about a team that's not played a team with the length and size that Kentucky has.. Their only real tough teams have been Syracuse and Kansas and they lost both of those.Comment

Kentucky had defended the three poorly all year, but their defense has been really really good down the stretch this year. Cornell doesn't have the speed to drive past Kentucky defenders, so Kentucky will just need to stay out on the three and make them beat them inside the arch. The Cornell big guy (forget his name) is a really good player, but he has to go up against probably the best big man in the country in DeMarcus Cousins. I think Kentucky wins this game by 10, but if they can't solve the three point shooting the Cinderella story for Cornell will continue.PSN: Koolie_G

What??? If they start handing out high seeds for close losses the tournament will suck. Cornell got the seed they deserved considering they won a decent amount of games but didn't actually beat anyone decent.Fan of....

Cornell can definitely score against Kentucky. Both Temple and Wisconsin have better defenses than Kentucky and Cornell put on an offensive clinic against both teams.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: The Official 2010 "Running Commentary of Every Single Tourney Game" Thread
Do you think Cornell was a top 25 or even top 40 team before the tourney started? If so, then they should've been a much higher seed than #12. Acutally, you probably should reward Cornell for losing close games against Syracuse and Kansas. Did Virginia Tech go on the road to play those type games? Nope, and that is one reason they were left out of the tourney. Schools should be rewarded for playing top programs that are not in their conference, even if they lose. Now, I'm not talking about giving Cornell a #3 seed, so I don't see where they would've handed out a high seed for a couple close losses and therefore the tourney would suck. I don't want to water down the tourney with mid major teams that can "almost" win big games, but I think most experts agreed when the brackets came out that Cornell was underseeded. If you think Cornell deserved a #12 seed then we will have to agree to disagree.PSN: Koolie_G

Re: The Official 2010 "Running Commentary of Every Single Tourney Game" Thread
I have to agree with Koolie. Cornell was ranked in the top 25 for the latter part of the season. It makes no sense for them to be seeded as low as they are. The only reason they were seeded this low is because the committee doesn't respect them for being an Ivy League team even though the polls knew they were better.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment
