Re: The Official 2010 "Running Commentary of Every Single Tourney Game" Thread

Cousins got a bad rap....IMO he showed legitimate effort to improve his attitude and ability to be a team player

I don't have a beef with UK really at all, I enjoyed most of their espn games

Cal looks a little shady with his violations, but seems to be a good guy/coach from what I can tell

I do however take issue with the talking heads at espn and others who have for the last 2 weeks tried to:

      A) Comment how its always the other teams fault they lost to WVU

      B) Predicting the next team will have a fairly simple time shutting us down......Ive heard so many "all you have to do is this or that, WVU hasn't seen anything like it".....

Seriously if all it took to beat Kentucky was to run the 1-3-1, then they'd have more then 2 losses during the year

and if their not saying stuff about that then they're trashing out Huggin's sweat suit, though I'll admit Ive lol'd at some of the jokes.....but the sweat suit is still better then the dreaded Gold Suit of Death

Oh well, hopefully thats all in the past

On the other hand, if UK tops 70 points, then UK probably wins as WVU is only 3-6 when their opponents eclipse of the 70-point barrier.
Looks like this held up once again. 28-0 now...

In WVU's ten-game win streak, WVU had won by the following scores:

            74-68 over Cincinnati
            81-68 over Georgetown
            68-66 over Villanova
            54-51 over Cincinnati
            53-51 over Notre Dame
            60-58 over Georgetown
            77-50 over Morgan State
            68-59 over Missouri
            69-56 over Missouri
            73-66 over Kentucky

No games in which the opponent scored over 68 points and their record is 10-0 during that streak.

WVU had done a phenomenal job at controlling the pacing of their games in this treak and has done so against several teams that wanted to push the pace (Washington, Kentucky), so I see no reason to think that that will change.

Sorry pal.......not going to happen. This team is on a mission and the way they're playing defense, I can't see anyone wiping the floor with them. They might not play the prettiest style of basketball, but dammit if they're defense doesn't allow them an opportunity to win, regardless of offensive lapses or weaknesses. Perhaps Wall should have focused more on a gameplan and less on his resume for Dancing With the Stars. It was nice seeing the "humbled" UK players in their post game press conference.

So tired that he scored 18 pts in the 2nd half? Listen he finally understood that hey if my outside shot isn't falling put the ball on the deck and go to the rim. Either he hit a tough shot inside, or he got fouled. He is still playing solid D on the other end of the floor. The only fall off Scheyer had was in regards to his scoring output. When we need a big play he gives us one. Whether it be a rebound, steal, setting up Smith or Singler for a big bucket, or like Fri night scoring 18 pts in the 2nd half/hitting the game winning trey to win the ACC Tournament 2 weeks ago. He's been pressing, because he knows every game is his last and wants to win so bad. He was over thinking on his shot, and all he needed was that first trey to go down and look what happen he got on track. I just wish JJ would have realized what Jon has back in 06 and maybe we could have got by LSU.

I'm proud at how Butler just came out and locked down K State for much of the game. I knew that double OT game would take some of out of K State and it showed. To WVU fans congrats on making the FF you guys flat out earned it. To the UK faithful congrats on a good season I know it's not how you wanted it to end, but just thinking back to where you were the past few years at least you were one of the last 8 teams playing.

As for the Baylor game I'm so glad nobody is giving us a chance to win this game. Baylor is the trendy pick and true that they have been playing great basketball, but also let's remember they played a 14,11 and a 10 to get here. Does that mean we will roll them over no must certainly don't. That being said I love this Duke team. We play great D, and kill on the boards. If anybody has been paying attention this tournament has been about D and rebounding. The tournament has opened up for all 6 teams still left to be playing and whoever wins it will have earned it. 5:05 can't get here fast enough. No matter if we win or lose I'm going to just say this Duke team has made me proud to be a lifelong Duke fan, and I think for the seniors we need to win this game. This is the biggest game for our program in a long time, and I think it is our time. LETS GO DUKE!!!!!!!!!

                        Nice post.

Wall had 19 pts 9 rbds and 5 assists. I don't think Dancing with the Stars was on his mind. WVU played harder than UK and executed better. Plain and simple.

Congratulations on the win. Your team deserved it. And go ahead and get in all your shots. I know it must feel nice to take down the most talented team in America. UK will be very good again next year. And the next year. And the next year. Get your laughs in while you can.

That's just stupid. Wall had a good game and no doubt was focused, they just got outplayed.

Taunting someone for not focusing on basketball when they're going to be the first pick in the NBA draft is just funny to me for some odd reason.
