Not a huge surprise....Rodney Hood signs with Mississippi State.

I know I'm pretty late to this party, but I was very excited to see LeBryan Nash commit to Oklahoma State last week. It was Travis Ford's biggest recruit to date for the Pokes, and our team is going to be loaded with young talent next season.

Nash made things interesting during his decision, and at one point, I thought he was going to throw a curve ball and pick St. John's like Harrison a week earlier. But he pulled out the big OSU foam hat and made things official. We might have him for only a year, but it should be fun.

I'm not a Memphis fan by any means, but it's nice to see Pastner keep up the recruiting success. I hope they end up even better without Calipari.

After missing out on Chasson Randle to Stanford, Illinois got a commitment from Forward Mike Shaw today.
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

I like how Pastner is keeping the Memphis kids in Memphis. Cal didn't really have an interest in that.

PG Angel Rodriguez will be in town this weekend visiting Louisville. He will visit NC State next weekend and then will make his decision. He has already visited Kansas State.

Not sure if we'll get him to committ as again we are late to the party.

A big weekend for IU ends with a big pickup for 2012 with the commitment of Hanner Perea. The kid looks to be an outstanding athlete. Perea is the first 5 star commitment Tom Crean has recieved while at IU.

Taking his official visit this weekend to IU was Cody Zeller. Sometime in the near future he will be deciding between IU, UNC, and Butler. Things are looking good for IU but, I'll wait for an official word from Zeller before I get excited about him. Zeller is almost a must get recruit for Crean.

I'm actually starting to feel sorry for Louisville supporters....because their recruiting is starting to mirror the last three years of the Tubby Smith era at Kentucky. I can tell because Card fans are watching recruiting intently, much as UK fans sweated over every target's decision from 2005-07 and then making excuses why the coach can't land the players he used to. I just hope they don't have to live through what we went through, i.e., players like Bobby Perry and Michael Porter having to start because they struck out on all their top targets. Ugh!

I actually forgot that Blackshear and Behanan had signed....although I've heard rumblings that Blackshear may de-commit. But you have to admit....Pitino has struck out more than he's connected the past three seasons. Are you not the least bit concerned?

                              Bunch of Duke stuff...

-Tyler Adams was a no-show to Countdown 2 Craziness, de-committed shortly afterwards, and just verballed to Georgetown a few days ago.

-Quinn Cook is supposed to announce this week. According to his coach it's down to Duke and UCLA.

-Myck Kabongo de-committed from Texas and is considering Texas, Syracuse, UNC, Duke, and Kentucky.

-Duke has appeared to have lost the Shabazz Muhammad race and is now focusing on other 2012 recruits such as Tony Parker (F/C), Rasheed Sulaimon (G), Rodney Purvis (G), and Kaleb Tarczewski (C) among others.

Yes indeed very good weekend for IU.
Just read about 5 articles on the Zeller recruitment, it really looks like he is going to sign with IU. He brother just said last week that really wanted him to join him at UNC but that he thought he was going to sign with IU.
