Re: The Official 2011 "Running Commentary of Every Single Tourney Game" Thread
I dont buy the explanation because they have reviewed issues like that over and over throughout the tournament and never once have I heard them say anything about it being tied into the whistle. It shouldnt matter when the whistle was blown, it matters when the ball was out of bounds. Whats next, same play happens but the "home town" clock operator fails to stop the clock and the ref fumbles his whistle as hes going to use it, then what? The game is over because its based on when the whistle was blown, or in that case not blown? Terrible excuse imo.Comment

We need about 8+ threes this half to have a chance to win.Comment

Right, the whistle makes the initial stopping of the clock, but they have gone back and added or taken off time throughout the season as needed.I dont buy the explanation because they have reviewed issues like that over and over throughout the tournament and never once have I heard them say anything about it being tied into the whistle. I knew this was going to be a tough game because of Michigan's 1-3-1, but if we can play better defense, we can get this done.Comment

To me, it seems as though they are trying to defend and cover up an incredibly horrible call by the refs which possibly changed the outcome of the game. This has to be the case, his explanation made no sense.
What he said is essentially this, even if they had reviewed it it would not have changed anything, because even with review we watch for when the officials arm goes up, so if this is the case even with video review we only would've gotten 0.5 seconds on the clock.
IF that is truly how the NCAA uses video review it is extremely broken and needs to be fixed ASAP, isn't that the whole point of video review? To watch and correct a bad ruling, if you simply use it to confirm said bad ruling it serves no real purpose.Favorite Teams:

Michigan really missed a chance at a run there to start the half.Comment
