Re: The Official 2011 "Running Commentary of Every Single Tourney Game" Thread
Illinois exceeded my expectations tonight, played Kansas tough for 30 minutes, kept it to about 4, ultimately KU was too tough inside for us. I still think KU is the 2nd best team in the dance this year behind OSU, if those two make it to the title game should be a heck of a game.
The future should be bright for Illinois to, Weber has landed some great classes in 09, 10, and now 11 and we have a 3 year starting PG transferring in from Bradley who should help stabilize the PG position with McCamey graduating. Weber catches a lot of flack for how far the program seems to have fallen after the title game appearance but a lot of that stems from recruiting misses, that all was capped with the Eric Gordon fiasco, but he finally got things on track there by hiring Jerrance Howard on as an assistant and I think the future is going to be very bright starting next season.Favorite Teams:

What game were you watching where he didn't contribute to us losing? He played awful tonight. Awful. Waiters and Triche for the time that he was in lessened the negative effect that Scoop had on our game. Marquette made Rick Jackson a non-factor. Kudos to them for that. Turnovers cost us this game not our big men getting in foul trouble. Prior to the backcourt violation by Scoop, Marquette had 20 points off of 17 Cuse turnovers. Our zone was great but couldn't make up for the points off of turnovers. That rumor is wrong. There's no way Boeheim is going to tell Scoop to move on. He's our only true PG. Triche, Waiters, and Carter-Williams are all scorers. And believe me, it hurts so much to say because Scoop is honestly the most frustrating player I've ever personally watched. At any rate, he isn't what cost us this game. Triche getting hurt, and all of our big men getting in foul trouble is what killed us.
What I wrote on Niketalk.com's College Basketball Thread that sums up how I feel right now.
I'm just so frustrated right now. I can't even contain myself right now. I ain't crying but I wouldn't give a !++$ if I did right now. I'm emotionally spent. Until the losing culture that present on this team, leaves this team will continue to fall short year in and year out. Had them pegged as a Sweet 16 team and they couldn't even do that with the weak field this year. Waiters put this team on his back and the VETS couldn't come through for him. A damn shame.
Rick Jackson goes out a loser. He didn't help his cause. He could have cost us the game like he did last year versus Butler when we actually had a legit shot to win the chip.
Scoop Jardine....
y'all already know how I feel about him. Didn't like him when he arrived on campus and I damn sure don't like him now. I never understood why he came off the bench last year until he started this season. He's terrible. Please don't come back.
Kris Joseph. Wasn't this supposed to be his team this year? Didn't look like it. Shied away from the responsibility that was his when Andy, Wes and AO left. He's another disappointment. He's nowhere near pro ready. He NEEDS his last year.
I'm tired of the disappointment. I have no reason to watch the tournament anymore. I would say congrats to the winner but if it ain't my team, #%@! them.NCAA BB: Syracuse Orange

Man, Notre Dame looks awful. Missing open shots, fouling like crazy on defense, and throwing passes out of bounds. Meanwhile, FSU is shooting very well and playing stifling defense. I think I can count the number of times Notre Dame has gotten off a clean jumper on one hand.Comment

Triche isn't a 2 guard though. He can't make his own shot and has zero movement away from the ball. He's better off running the show imo. At least he's not a total ****** like scoop. That rumor is wrong. There's no way Boeheim is going to tell Scoop to move on. He's our only true PG. Triche, Waiters, and Carter-Williams are all scorers. Florida State is just stomping ND.
FSU holds opponents to 36% from the field for the year and it continued tonight.
Amazing stat. I couldn't believe it when I heard it on the pre-tourney shows a week ago. I think that was the best in D1 hoops in the last 10 years."Hard work beats talent, when talent isn't working hard.”Comment

Being down like 20 to FSU is like being down forty.
The potential VCU / FSU matchup is really intriguing.Comment
