Penn State played like they belonged today, you could present a legit argument against a number of bubble teams that got seeded higher than Utah State but Penn State showed up and made Temple put them away on a buzzer beater.

Utah State came out and played like garbage in the first half and for portions of the second.

Penn State played as good as you can expect a 10 seed to play, Utah State played as inconsistently as you'd expect a 12 to play.

One game does not a seed warrant.

I'm shocked that teams like Mizzouri, Belmont, Utah State, and Clemson came out and played so terrible today.

I mean Clemson played well for a while, but it was never in doubt during the 2nd half when WVU pulled away.

I thought these teams would be just a little bit more competitive than that. I'm especially disappointed with Utah State. They have a senior laden team and they come out playing like that in the 1st half. They brought their C game tonight.

I was dissapointed how utah state came out, because of that slow start they had to play uphill all game and against a veteran team like Kansas State that was something they could ill afford.

No but the spotlight is shining brightest now, Penn State showed they were worthy of the seed they got with their performance, they may not have had any good wins before conference play but they played a tough conference schedule and won some games.

Utah State on the other hand didn't have any signature non conference wins and didn't really have any signature wins at all, I guess St. Mary's but they didn't even make the dance.

Utah State won 30 games and congrats on that but not many of them were quality, 12 seed was all they deserved.

I did absolutely awful today. Went 9-7 in MY BEST BRACKET. I picked too many upsets. Clemson, Utah State, Missouri, Penn State, Michigan State, Belmont, and Louisville all lost. Ive lost Utah State, Michigan State, and Louisville from my Sweet 16 already; Michigan St being in my Elite 8 *sigh*

Utah State knowingly sets up easy non-conference schedules year by year.

than when they get in the NCAA tournament they aren't tested enough

That's exactly how I feel too. I know if Utah State had brought their A game they could have beaten KState. It's a terrible way to go out.

Same with Belmont. Not only did Belmont bring their C game (coming out really nervous, missing 3's they usually make, turning it over several times in the 1st hafl), but then when they tried to make a comeback it was just ugly to watch because they looked like they didn't even belong on the same court as Wisconsin.


This happens every year but it's just sad to see. I expected both teams to give their opponents a fight to the end, but both games turned out rather one sided.

12-4 on the day...bleh. I lost St. Johns and Utah State from my Sweet 16. Everyone else still alive.

Tomorrow I only have two "upsets" picked...Georgia over UW and FSU over A&M. Everything else is chalk.

11-5 on the day, only lost one Sweet 16 team so far (Belmont).

Ah you're lucky. I lost 3 Sweet 16 teams today. (Mizzou, Utah State and L'Ville)

I also have all chalk tomorrow except for Villanova over George Mason. It's going to be such a boring day.... Will really pull for any 16 seed not playing Duke to get it done.

Penn St. played like they belonged.

Utah St's record, while gaudy, lacked substance. Penn St's two wins alone over Wisconsin trumps anything that Utah St. did.

Don't get me wrong, I do think that Utah St. was a pretty good team, but.. their resume wasn't at all good.

I don't think I've seen anyone say that, SDSU hasn't won against anyone besides BYU, which was once.

Mark me for the same record but I've lost two Sweet 16 teams, Utah State & Louisville.
