Re: What ever happened to good \'ol HATE?

john gilchrist ran the offense pretty good in a half court set from what i seen of him last yr. why not let him instead of turning it into a track meet where u can actually make even more turnovers? well as long as u dont have jackie manuel trying to hit layups (cuz we all know he cant ) i guess gary can live with that. im just glad i dont have to watch thaj holden flop all over the place when a 5'10" guard like Ed Scott drives to the hoop.

I have to give you credit on the Tahj comment. He has to be the least physical 6'10" 260 pounder that I've ever seen.

But seriously, this is easily Gary's most athletic team in his entire tenure at Maryland. The main reasons why he wants to run this year are (1) the teams extremely fast and athletic, and (2) the team lacks a true offensive post player. Jamar Smith and Travis Garrison will probably be our starting 4 and 5, and both are lanky 6'9" guys who are not gonna post up big men in the half court, but they can run the other team's big men out of the gym.

It should be a very exciting year. This team probably won't be a top 15 team again, but I guarantee you they will make the tournament.
