Michigan came out way too hot in the first half. Celebrating like the game was over. We've all see this story at all levels of basketball. The cards turned up the pressure. Burke sat down for too long in my opinion in the first half. Too many easy points in the second half. And again too many 50-50 balls.

That said, I'll have a hard time getting over the Hancock missed foul, Burke's phantom flyby in half one, the clear goaltend missed, and one of the cleanest blocked dunks I've ever seen being whistled. The Burke block and Hancock's free foul both played very large roles in the way the tide turned tonight. It's not as if Michigan didn't have their own opportunities and lapses, but I still found those calls quite regrettable.Comment

Living in Louisville I'm guessing you get used to reacting to gunshots.Comment

Beilein is cursed with blowing big leads against Louisville in the NCAA Tournament.

Congrats to Louisville. They deserved to win. Wasn't rooting for them obviously but they were long overdue for a title.
This will add some spice to the UK-UofL rivalry. I've always wondered why it wasn't mentioned in the same breath as UNC-Duke (actually I know why, it's called ESPN) but hopefully consecutive titles will finally get people's attention. I just hope Pitino sticks around, his mutual dislike with Calipari takes the rivalry to a level that UNC and Duke fans don't get to enjoy."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Totally agree. But I could go back and look at a few more calls that were just as bad. But let me give you a great explain of who wanted it more. Glenn Jr. had a break away dunk. But Siva came racing back for the striped the ball away. It's just another effort plays that michigan wasn't making.

On the other side, I think I agree Burke likely should have come in for the final few minutes of the first half, but that's complete hindsight from my side. I think Albrect's explosion likely outweighed what Burke may have been able to provide in that stretch. And again, I attribute the let up more to what Hancock did as opposed to what UM did not.
Further, had Burke jumped back out there and committed a third foul in the first half, then we'd likely be talking now about how silly it was to throw Burke back out there with Spike playing out of his mind.Comment

I'm not blaming officials, this is the one game Michigan didn't rebound well and it cost them.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics
