    Re: NIT,CBI,CIT Discussion Thread

Virginia won their opening game against Norfolk State in the NIT. I was there to watch, for variety. It was fun, if a bit sloppy.

I think we have a good shot of winning the NIT, for whatever that's worth; we've got to play crisper than we did today, however.

I bought tickets yesterday for the Iowa/Stony Brook game and it seems like it will sellout again.

Should be nice and loud in Carver tonight. Go Hawks!

Fun game to be at too. The crowd was great and it felt like a football game at times. I love how Fran has Carver rocking again.

              Go St. Johns tomorrow!

Bama looking pretty good so far against Stanford. Good intensity and effort.

Virginia knocks off Steve Lavin and the St. John's Red Storm in a game that was never really a contest. They'll host Iowa on Wednesday with (I think, I've never really paid attention to the NIT before this year) the winner going to the Garden.

Big contributions from three freshmen for the Hoos today - forward Justin Anderson, center Mike Tobey, and guard Tevin Jones all got into double figures. Forward Evan Nolte got significant minutes as well. This is a young team with playable depth getting great tournament experience. All the while, the team just won its 19th straight at the John Paul Jones Arena; something to be said for that as well.

I look forward to the game on Wednesday against the Hawkeyes.

Darn. I was hoping the Red Storm would win so that the Hawks would play at Carver.

Panthers get Bradley (again) at home in the CIT on Tuesday. Last time the Braves came to the McLeod (mid January) the Panthers won by 31. Then they turned around and barely escaped at Bradley (in mid-February) winning by 3. So I'm prepared for pretty much anything.

Panthers beat Bradley for the third time this season 90-77. They move on to the CIT semi-finals against (likely) Evansville, though if Weber State beats Oral Roberts, I could see them playing Weber State as well.

Great win for Iowa. My brother was at the game with some friends and got on TV at the end of the game by holding up an Iowa flag with them.

Nice to see both Iowa and Northern Iowa in the Final Four of their respective post-season berths.
