Apparently in the Smart situation the N word was said by the fan. That's what I'm hearing on the radio.

Apparently the fan that instigated the incident with Smart is pretty famous lol. Former players saying they remember facing him. He said he didn't use the N word but said something regrettable.NFL: Bills

Re: 2/3-2/9 Game Thread Discussion
To be honest, my first reaction to the Smart incident was "Good for him (Smart)"
That's probably not the right reaction to have, and when I watch it again tomorrow, when I don't have a buzz on, I'm guessing I will come back from this opinion. But from what I saw, that old guy looked scared ****less when Smart got up and looked at him, looked like he was trying to say "sorry". Shoving him was probably too far, but I'm glad Smart got in his face and gave him a bit of a scare.
You're a grown *** man, and you're heckling (likely in a racially charged manner) a college kid. Yeah, those aren't robots out there, they are human beings, who might actually be hurt by something you say.

Re: 2/3-2/9 Game Thread Discussion
Obviously, the fan was over the line. I don't even blame Smart for reacting in that way in the heat of the moment.
Still think he should be suspended. Maybe not for the rest of the conference schedule like I originally said. That's 8 games - probably too much. Around 4 is probably more appropriate. There are just too many things that can go wrong in a situation like that for there not to be a message sent.Comment

Re: 2/3-2/9 Game Thread Discussion
This is probably the #1 reason he's going to foolishly leave after this season. He just doesn't have the fire in his gut; no "dog" in his game, as they say. Which means he's hit his ceiling as a college player. Trey Burke was *THIS* close to leaving after his freshman season, but when he decided to come back it was the right move because he had that passion in his heart to guarantee it was the right thing to do, and the results were obvious. Just isn't there with GR3. He's certainly not hard up for money and looking to get the NBA paycheck...but he just doesn't seem interested in college basketball.
I don't think GR3, Stauskas, or McGary are ready for the NBA, but there's a very real chance all three are gone after this season, which is a ******* shame, because next year's Michigan team could be really special if they were back. Stauskas and Robinson are going through the motions now, and McGary has a long list of reasons to start his pro career sooner than later.
Disappointing.Comment

I wasn't at the game last night, but I fully support Smart. It's embarrassing as not only a Tech fan, but as someone from Lubbock that people still say that stuff and grown *** men heckle kids.
EDIT: Apparently the guy has a history. You can see him at the end of this video.

Re: 2/3-2/9 Game Thread Discussion
Michigan goes to Iowa (2:00 PM ET, ESPN)
Wichita State goes to Northern Iowa (9:00 PM ET, ESPN2)
Gonzaga goes to Memphis (9:00 PM ET, ESPN)
Texas goes Kansas State (1:30 PM ET)
Providence goes to Xavier (3:00 PM ET, FOXS1)
Florida State goes to Maryland (3:00 PM ET, ESPN2)
West Virginia goes to Kansas ( 4:00 PM ET, ESPN)
Missouri goes to Ole Miss (5:00 PM ET)
Oregon goes to Arizona State (5:00 PM ET, FOXS1)
Baylor goes to Oklahoma (7:00 PM ET, ESPN2)
Cincinnati goes to SMU (730 PM ET, ESPN-U)
VCU goes to St. Joe's (8:00 PM ET, CBSSN)
As we can see home teams dominated for the most part. A bunch of teams really helped themselves this weekend: SMU, Iowa, Kansas State, Xavier, St. Joe's and to a lesser extent Ole Miss and Arizona State.
Teams with a bad weekend: Baylor and Oregon missed opportunities. Baylor didn't play well but Oregon missed 2 great opportunities in the last couple days for a signature road win and a road win against another bubble team. Oklahoma State is obviously having a bad stretch, I never thought they would free fall the way they have.
Missouri and Florida State needed to win this weekend too. It will be interesting to see how Gonzaga is treated going forward if they don't win their conference tournament. I didn't see much of the game but it seemed like they played well. They just don't have that usual marquee win they have every year."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. Re: 2/3-2/9 Game Thread Discussion
Michigan State Wisconsin had a great ending. Michigan State was down 5 with 24 seconds and Gary Harris who was 2 for 19 came off a screen and hit a 2 point shot. Michigan State fouled Ben Brust, a 94% FT shooter, he missed the front end of a one and one.
After a timeout, Michigan State ran a great play for Adreian Payne for a 3 and he buried it. The play was similar to the one Virginia ran against Pitt last week. Michigan State ran a double fade screen to the corner for Gary Harris with Payne and Costello ( I think) as the screeners. Payne then came off a screen from Costello after that to get open.
Wisconsin drove down the court and with under 5 seconds left, Treveon Jackson hit a pull up jumper for the win. Travis Trice had a shot from half court hit the rim but not go in. I thought Gary Harris made a mistake on that last possession by not forcing Jackson to use the screen. If he was forced to use the screen, I think Michigan State would have been fine switching on the screen given that there was less than 5 seconds left."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. Also, the color technically doesn't have a name. It's pantone 273, though the university calls it "primary purple."Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Saint Johns and Creighton are in a tight game with 9:30 left. They are tied at 57. I love watching Doug McDermott play. Saint Johns has been playing much better as of late.Comment
