Re: SI.com's College Basketball Preview
Ahh.. can't wait to see this year's squad!Coach K and Blue Devils fans can't afford to ask, "What if?" With Deng and Livingston, Duke would likely have opened the season ranked No. 1 in the nation. But without their raw talents, the Devils will need breakout seasons from Ewing, Randolph and Williams to continue their recent domination of the ACC. With stocked teams in Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and UNC, the Devils will be the hunters instead of the hunted.
That doesn't mean Duke doesn't have talent; all five probable starters were McDonald's All-Americas. It just means they could've had more. -

Re: SI.com's College Basketball Preview
We all knock on Duhon(Well not duke fans)and he may get hype like no other athlete ever, but i think this year we'll see how valuable he was to Duke. And i said this last year and i'll say it again,i just can't see Dockery running the poitn effectvely. He was great defensively but didn't do much else.Comment

Re: SI.com's College Basketball Preview
as much as a lot of duke fans hated on Duhon i never did. i fully understood how much he meant to the team. all the oh hes playing with hurt ribs yada yada yada no outside shot who the heck cared? i didn't i knew he led us defensively and in a leadership role. so yes that will be hard to replace but with nelson on the offensive end and dock on the defensive end i think we will be fine.Originally posted by Vinceanity2k3We all knock on Duhon(Well not duke fans)and he may get hype like no other athlete ever, but i think this year we'll see how valuable he was to Duke. And i said this last year and i'll say it again,i just can't see Dockery running the poitn effectvely. He was great defensively but didn't do much else.President of the Devils Den

Re: SI.com's College Basketball Preview
We'll see...
Duke: Is Sean Dockery worthy of the mantle?
Johnny Dawkins, Quin Snyder, Bobby Hurley, Steve Wojciechowski, Jay Williams, Chris Duhon. That's a pretty good lineage of point guards to come through Durham, and it's no coincidence a string of Final Four appearances has also queued up. Now Dockery, a 6-2 junior, takes over a team that has only eight scholarship players after Luol Deng and Shaun Livingston were drafted by the NBA. The Blue Devils will have their usual surfeit of perimeter scorers (J.J. Redick, Daniel Ewing, freshman DeMarcus Nelson), but it will be up to Dockery, who last season averaged just 1.3 assists in 15.4 minutes, to manage the game and create scoring opportunities for his teammates. He might prove capable of doing that, but he hasn't yet.Comment
