This has to do with the NIT...I just flipped over to the PSU/ND game and noticed they are using the women's rule of 4 quarters instead of 2 halves. Is this an experiment? Has the NIT used 4 quarters before and I just missed it?

The 2018 NIT will feature four rules modifications:

*The three-point line will be extended by approximately 1 foot 8 inches to the same distance used by FIBA for international competition (22 feet 1.75 inches).
*The free throw lane will be widened from 12 feet to 16 feet, consistent with the width used by the NBA.
*The games will be divided into four 10-minute quarters as opposed to two 20-minute halves. Teams will shoot two free throws beginning with the fifth foul of each quarter.
*The shot clock will reset to 20 seconds after an offensive rebound instead of the full 30 seconds.

It’s just an experiment for this year. I don’t like and it’s probably because I have been so use to halves.

Looking at the slate of games today it feels like the early games all have potential to be blowouts...it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Nova/Bama has been better than I expected already.

I hate the scheduling. No reason to have 2 single games. They should have 1 game start every hour.

They don't want too many games on Saturday afternoon because they know the ratings will suffer since everybody is out and about.

Loyola knocked off Florida way back at the beginning of the season...and a lot of people were like "what happened", but I honestly came away impressed that they were a really good team. They look like they're even better now...this is a legit team.
