Houston not putting a man on the inbounder on the last play was interesting.

My comment missed its mark. I was saying I was so distracted by her that I didn't realize Elvin Hayes was there.

As a Michigan fan (and every other Michigan fan will agree with me), I will never understand not guarding the inbounds pass. Why allow a clean look and not force a more difficult pass that will certainly cause more time to run off the clock and almost certainly cause the opponent to start farther from the basket?

End of the video: Houston guarded the inbounder against SDSU. SDSU backed up their inbounder so he could get the pass off clean.

Kell caught the pass but missed the 3 at the buzzer.

So my guess is Sampson decided not to guard the inbounder given that SDSU still got a good look off the other night.

Phenomenal Poise by MAAR to pass that to Poole. Michigan could not have played worse offensively than these 2 games.

I'm in the guard-the-inbound camp. I've had to try to make some of those inbound passes before and it sucks when you've got a fellow with a 6'8'' wingspan hugging the baseline with his arms flying everywhere.

That said, I thought Houston's free safety did a pretty good job of forcing Michigan's hand. There wasn't really going to be a possibility of a clean pass and catch beyond half court right away. Michigan just seemed to have a nice secondary play lined up in that instance (with a player sprinting into the backcourt and action happening elsewhere). Even then, it took a miraculous shot to end it all.

Glad to see the internet was on the case. I know the color of the dress was something I was paying close attention to. Apparently it wasn't even a dress, lol.

Yeah I agree. I mean the shot they gave up was clearly a much worse shot than the one Kentucky gave up in 92.

I'm still surprised no one in media is bringing up that Houston guarded the inbounder the other night and gave up a good look that just didn't go.

WOW! I don’t think I’m not going to be able to fall asleep tonight. I’ve see Michigan football and basketball on the other end of that way to many times.

Hasn't guarding the inbounder basically been basketball conventional wisdom since the Laettner shot?
