He is just insufferable now.

I bet you're giddily numb right now. This Tech team is the one team that comes around ever so often that flat magically puts it all together at the right time, the right time being tourney time. The tourney they've put together has been quietly spectacular. Not really having a die-hard connection to a team, many teams will fly under my radar, such as this Tech team. The way they play defense and the way they Virginia plays offense will make for an interesting game.

You probably know these fun facts, but Mooney's big game was quite rare as only 9 Tech games resulted in a high scorer not named Culver. Both games Mooney was high scorer, he netted 22 points.

Yeah Mooney was out of his mind last night.

The crazy thing is, our top 2 scorers (Culver and Moretti) combined for ZERO baskets and ONE point in the first half.

If we get a full game of production from them, Mooney keeps it up, Owens comes back healthy, and Odiase does his thing? We're gettin' on that plane with a trophy.

Could be. UVA can turn up the speed if they wanted to, they just refuse to do it.

If both teams take most of the shot clock, you are looking at 25-30 possessions in a half. Even shooting 50% probably puts the halftime scores around 20 points.

Yea that's one thing about this years Virginia team. They are much more offensively inclined then last year.

Still I expect a low scoring game. High 50s low 60s.

Similar to baseball with each umpire having their own strike zone or what have you that's what I would like to see in CBB. I know you can't call the game perfect in real time and it was most definitely a foul on Guy on that shot, but again... consistency please. They were letting damn near everything go most of the game. Why decide you're going to follow the book on that shot?

I didn't catch the double dribble in real time and I'm sure most people didn't, but the referee had a clear look at it and should have called it.

I hate to go out that way, but we never should have needed that run in the first place or allowed the big time three after Anfernee Mclemore hit his free throws to extend the lead with 17 seconds left. Same with Jared Harper missing a free throw down the stretch. There are so many variables, but with Chuma Okeke playing I think Auburn would be playing Texas Tech and have a very good shot of winning it all.

Congrats to Virginia fans. The way Auburn handled themselves post-game and the actions of Bruce Pearl speaks volumes about this team and their selflessness. When Anfernee was shooting the biggest free throws in his life you could see him mouthing the words "for Chuma.. for Chuma" over and over. They really do love each other and played great team basketball and defense. Lost in February to Kentucky and then went on such a ridiculous run through March, winning the conference tournament, etc. Beating Kansas, North Carolina, and then Kentucky to get there is phenomenal. They completely housed some really good teams.. like Tennessee and Kansas by 20 and North Carolina by 17. This team is phenomenal and looking at it now I'm really thankful for everything. They created a generation of life-long basketball fans in a football state similar to how Maquis Daniels and the Tigers did by playing Carmelo Anthony's Syracuse team down to the wire in the Sweet 16 did for me.
