This Florida team continues to be so maddening...they'll look great for spurts, but then go through 8-10 minutes of brain dead offense. I guess that's what happens when you have so many young guys, but the seniors Allen, Hudson, and Hayes contribute to those poor offensive stretches as much as the freshman do.
Welp...I thought coming in that the 2nd round was a good season for this team. Survive and advance.
That's all I really care about looking at the game in retrospect. Auburn looked like a team that played 4 straight days and then had to fly to Salt Lake City in a higher elevation and play on the following Thursday. The offense was moving at a snail's pace compared to usual, but 5 games in 8 days will do that.
No excuses, though.. NMSU is a good basketball team and that was their first loss since January.. both teams did some choking of their own later in the game, but Auburn also missed a lot of free throws that would have extended the lead further. Too many could have, would have, should haves.. I'm just glad to get the win.Last edited by AUChase; 03-22-2019, 08:00 AM.Comment
