What really bothers me is Kentucky continues to come out of the gate with very little effort. How do you come out and go down 15 points at Rupp to South Carolina? Just no effort at all in the early stages of a game and also poor execution at the end of games. I was so excited for this season and this team. I thought in the Bahamas games they looked like a title contender.

Oscar made some comments to the press that while I agree with him, you probably should keep behind closed doors.

It can go one of two ways. It either pulls the team together or it completely fractures them.

There is something going on behind the scenes. Several program insiders have alluded to it, but they aren’t at liberty to disclose. It all eventually comes out though.

UNC loves the 3-ball and just chucking up bricks without a decent possession. It's maddening, especially without a hoss like Bacot in there.

I fully believe UNC lost the championship game because of Bacot's injury and offensive rebounding from these terrible 3s.

Oscar wears his heart on his sleeve. I don't think his comments are necessarily wrong BUT on the defensive end he's been pretty poor the last few games. There are different ways as a teammate to react to those comments. One might become bitter, or one might become motivated to do better. Personally, if I'm being honest, I would probably be more bitter. If a teammate wants to get on me for not giving my best effort, if he were to approach me privately in practice, I would be more likely to respond in a positive way. I think to bring it out in the public like that, it's more likely it'll just cause more descension.

As far as offensive style, I've never been a fan of shooting 3s like crazy. I'm also not a fan of the "seven seconds" offense. I think it's better to look for the best shot and play to the strengths of your players. I do like a lot of passing. However, at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter what style you play so long as you win. I'd also say, recently, Kentucky has just as many defensive problems as they do offensive problems. Teams are getting whatever they want against them, whether is open 3s or easy drives to the basket. It's very frustrating as a fan to see such little effort on the defensive end.
