If U of L were to fire Payne, it would owe him $8 million as part of a buyout agreement that started at $10 million and is set to decrease by $2 million each year of his tenure, meaning it will drop to $6 million on April 1, 2024.

They're still paying Chris Mack through 2025, kinda sounds like they'll ride this one out
