Anyone with the game, if you can, let me know if the dynamic banners (and the MVP trophy/inside stadium for that matter) work for expansion teams?

Re: 2K26 MyNBA / Franchise Mode
I have a question and an observation. First the observation. How come when they do the season awards they show the players wearing suits? Aside from the years when they did the awards after the season ended and when the award winners weren’t playing during the playoffs, they have always worn their warmups.
And my question. I’m sure this is a long shot, but is the All Star Game presentation the same as it’s always been? Did they ever add commentary back to the 3pt and Dunk contest?👍 1Comment

Re: 2K26 MyNBA / Franchise Mode
So I've finally gotten my teeth stuck into a MyNBA save, and a couple of observations...
- The CPU trade logic is still broken. Using the "smart" simulation just means that they add protection to picks and pick swaps, but the underlying logic of who is being traded and for what remains mostly illogical.
- I did an expansion draft and some of the players the CPU left unprotected was a bit off (Markkanen, Brandon Miller, MPJ, Ajay Mitchell). I ran this a few times and the same players seemed to get protected and left unprotected. This has always been an issue so it seems the CPU still can't assess its roster properly.
- Similarly with contract options, some weird decisions being made by the CPU. Quite a few decent young players still on their rookie deals had options declined (Jaquez Jr, Hendricks, Sensabaugh), while cheap role players also had their options declined (Kris Dunn, Mykhailiuk). Generally NBA teams aren't going to decline rookie options unless they are a complete bust early on, and declining team-friendly options for contributing role players is odd. I also noticed that the CPU protected a bunch of players in the expansion draft but then declined their options, which makes no sense.
So, in short, you still need to take control of teams to generate realistic roster outcomes.
One thing I did notice is that, when you go into the rookie signing screen after the draft, you have the option to sign second round picks to 2-way deals. It's a nice feature in theory but doesn't seems to work, as even if a team doesn't have all three 2-way slots filled, the game tells you there are no 2-way slots available. The timing is also off as CPU doesn't release their 2-way guys until the free agency period begins, so they usually have all three slots filled after the draft anyway.
You can also now propose draft night trades for players who have been drafted, as drafted players are available in the "trade finder" screen during the draft.👍 3Comment

Re: 2K26 MyNBA / Franchise Mode
Also, it seems like when you're building a summer league roster, all players go into the player pool, not just free agents.
I'm in my first summer league and I have Jovic playing for OKC, Moody playing for Sacramento, Strawther playing for Portland, Jarace Walker playing for Indiana, Max Christie playing for Cleveland and Hendricks playing for New Jersey, despite being contracted to their original teams still.
It also seems all free agents go into the summer league pool, so I have people like Isaiah Jackson, Daniel Theis, McCollum, Mark Williams, Sexton, Looney, Thybulle and Bruce Brown playing summer league, which is obviously ridiculous😂 1Comment

I could’ve sworn it was just all guys who aren’t technically under contract. Because I noticed guys getting signed to teams that happened after summer league but who were still FAs before and I was able to put a super star summer league squad available. Also, it seems like when you're building a summer league roster, all players go into the player pool, not just free agents.

I wish it would limit it to young players or scrubs to make it more realistic, but if it’s all players under contract, that’s crazy.
Overall it feels like they made the behind the scenes changes (new two way rules, CPU teams signing second round picks, etc.), but didn’t get to fully changing the old logic so new decisions are being made on the old game logic.Comment

Re: 2K26 MyNBA / Franchise Mode
Nope, it's definitely contracted players too. Strawther, Hendricks and Walker all had their 2026/27 options accepted, while Christie, Jovic and Moody have all signed long extensions in the past two years. Yet they all played for new teams in summer league, before going back to their original teams afterwards.
tbh I don't really have the energy to log a bug report, will just hope someone from 2k reads this and will simulate through summer league in future seasons (immersion is gone anyway now!).
EDIT - so I tested this a bit more. If you start a MyNBA with the default roster and don't make any changes to the league (ie - expansion), the summer league works as intended with only free agents in the player pool. But if you use a custom roster, or add an expansion team, it throws contracted players into the pool as well. Bizarre.Last edited by sirdez; 12-28-2025, 08:22 PM.👍 3Comment

Such a weird bug. I can see how that can be hard to find too since it’s such a unique scenario. Hopefully it gets clans up for next year.Nope, it's definitely contracted players too. Re: 2K26 MyNBA / Franchise Mode
So this is the first time I've had the current addition of NBA2k and I'm here strictly for MyNBA mode.
I really find myself enjoying a MyNBA career way down the road when all the actual players have retired and it is just the random generated players. What I was really hoping for was a way to start with that, a whole new league maybe starting with 16-20 non-NBA teams and slowly expand the league over time. Ideally this new league would have a blank canvas and no records to start with, no Wilt 100pt game, no Steph single season 3pt totals, someone else to hold the total career point crown. None of those records are really reachable with the generated players.
Any of my hopes and dreams achievable?👍 1Comment

Re: 2K26 MyNBA / Franchise Mode
Does anyone have a good spreadsheet to keep track of stats etc in their MyNBA/Franchise saves? Running an expansion team (Montreal) and would be cool to be able to see all time scoring lists etc down the road.NHL19 Dynasty: We them Dragons - Houston DragonsComment

I haven’t really cared about all-time stats but year-to-year stats I keep track of on this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...t?usp=drivesdk

Depends what you want out of the mode. The same issues with CPU roster management, awful generated draft classes, simulation stats, player morale etc are still there. If you really care about correct two way rules, banners in the rafters and updated rosters then sure, but most of the core/legacy issues remain.

Re: 2K26 MyNBA / Franchise Mode
i believe it is. i'm only playing myNBA ... and really enjoying it. I'm the Heat on default sliders (except for maxed fouls for everything - the fouls suck, there's not enough) and it's playing unreal. so many little moments that are like real hoops. like tipped rebounds, players playing and looking true to life. and best of all - each team feels like a different opponent.
the last 2K i bought was 23 ... and this is so much better and more realistic.👍 2Comment

Re: 2K26 MyNBA / Franchise Mode
Can players change their minds about resigning in the off-season?
I am playing as Grizzlies in 2004 and both Gasol and Miller want to test FA.
Don't know if I should just trade them while I can or wait for FA to sign new contracts.Comment
