Theres nothing to get used to. Offline players either need to learn every player on their team’s shot animations and make every shot, or not learn them and miss every shot. Good luck to those who want to control multiple teams in MyNBA lol have fun learning hundreds of animations.

No, they were removed because the online crowd cried about RNG and wanted green-or-miss. Instead of 2K keeping the existing shot profiles and just adding a new “Green or Miss” profile for online play, they removed everything and locked us all to green or miss unless we play on Pro difficulty or below.

Another positive I wanted to bring attention to: The artificial slow-down/rubber-band defense on fast breaks is no longer there. I just stole a pass with Anthony Davis and outran Luka with ease to dunk it uncontested. The break looked and felt noticeably more explosive and unrestrained as opposed to that sluggish stuck-in-mud feel of the last 5 years.
Not really, no. You can make it easier to green shots, but you can't add any form of RNG. Either you green it or you miss.👍 2Comment

I can't handle Rhythm Shooting. I had a great time with it last year, successfully using and mastering it over the shot button both offline and online. But they've introduced the following change and it's completely ruined everything:
"...now your Shot Timing and Tempo will actually manipulate the shooter's upper body and impact how the shot looks throughout the entire motion by reflecting how you move the shot stick."
I find it impossible not to get an ankward animation in the player. I even have players with whom I always get slow tempo, even when releasing the stick quickly, which is unbelievable. 2K always ruins what's good.👍 1Comment

I've tried yesterday the shot timing for half a game. Went back to Real Player%. If there's someone out there who can play MyNBA or games controlling multiple teams with shot timing must be some kind of genius. Not only you have to learn the animations of every player in your team but the shot is impacted by every move either yours or the defender's.
To put that into perspective you need to learn thousands of animations and still try to play some kind of mini game to hit the sweet spot in the meter while at the same time trying to run plays and play sim basketball. Even if you master this you then have different timings and shot meter behaviour depending on who is guarding you, how close they are etc. It's outrageous. I don't want to play Dark Souls basketball.
It's not a big issue for me because I always play with Real Player% but 2K must purely hate all their offline customers. They just want to make us suffer, they want to torture us because we're not spending money into their microtransactions abomination.
That said, if you're strictly an offline gamer and you don't like Real Player% you're done, don't even bother buying the game. You can mess with the shot timing slider but I don't have a clue if this will improve anything.👍 6Comment

I’ve never liked Real FG% because I want some user input. And I’ve always hated green or nothing since I might green 10-15% of my shots in a game. I like a mix of user input, ratings and random. The shot profile (low risk) plus timing windows and sliders let me customize that very well.
I was concerned about the green or nothing when that was announced a month ago and was accused of making stuff up or being overly dramatic on here. I wasn’t wrong. Mike Wang doesn’t give a crap about the offline user and this removal of options is a result. The new alley oop nonsense is the same thing. Give us an option to turn it right off! But all they care about is online and MyPlayer👍 4

If a free throw is missed, the rebound should count toward both team and player stats though. Is it counting a rebound off a blocked shot though? That could be the issue.Comment

While the dribbling system has improved, I also feel it has regressed significantly. Instead of a normal breakdown now we get an in and out dribble by pressing up. That really seems pretty terrible. Last year's system of selecting a motion with the ball style based on speed with ball, a signature dribble style based on ball handling, and a normal breakdown based on ball handling and an aggressive breakdown based on ball handling was infinitely better. Having to spam up on the controller or left and right for a different sig breakdown feels bad, performs terribly and also looks bad because half the time you end up doing a portion of an in and out into some odd canned animation that's in a very different speed. We've also lost the ease of holding in L2 and just performing a simple left to right, or vice versa, and it play out a variant of the signature dribble style. You now have to do several inputs and it's not fluid.
Removing the normal breakdown and replacing it with an in and out just seems plain dumb. Taking away options is never good and I'll never be convinced that having two options for breakdowns via pushing up makes sense. If the player wants to have to show off stick skills, then make a control option for them. As an offline player I don't want or need any of that, but I don't want those who don't to not have the option either. But I suppose asking 2k to spend time and money on developing input profiles for their undeniably two different game styles is just too much to ask for.
The removal of real player % is absolutely brutal and very telling of what we've already known in that their only real concern is that of the online community and VC buyers. It's insulting and just plain sucks.
The alley oop mini game is also pretty lame and arcade like.
I do really enjoy the responsiveness and control from what I've experienced so far, but all in all this is essentially an arcade game with all sorts of ways to show off stick skills and replicate some iteration of online pvp as opposed to a basketball simulation.
Sad to say, but I'm very disappointed and ultimately barring major changes, which we all know aren't coming, this will be put away for the most part as I foolishly wait until 2k27 with hopes it will bring back the things I like.
Huge disappointment. Desperately wish I could be refunded.👍 5Comment

Idk why the reply button has suddenly disappeared but:
topwater, Real Player% is still there, they haven't removed it. You just turn off shot timing and it says on the description that you're using Real Player% instead based on ratings.
rudyjuly2, I'm afraid you have to continue playing 2k25. There's no way the shooting profiles can be patched back in 2k26. It's green or nothing everywhere. Next year they'll remove Real Player% also. It's absolutely bonkers what they're doing.

I still can't believe Mike Wang doesn't care about offline anymore
Even Czar put his Twitter account on private
They know what they're doing is wrong for the sim nation
I expected only the higher ups the suits to not give a damn but mannnn not the devs too
Mike Wang only answers questions about online
That random ally-oop buttons is abomination VC 💰 made 2k stop caring for franchise just like mut made EA not care about franchise 🤦Last edited by simbayless; 08-31-2025, 12:30 PM.👍 5Comment

No it's not that bad. The game is good but if you're playing offline only and you're not using Real Player% you're gonna have a very difficult time. You want to run a 30 team MyNBA with shot timing? Well, there's absolutely no way to do it unless you're some kind of superhuman with superpowers.👍 5Comment
