I'm not sure what to say. If I use down I'll often get a shot meter and have to time a dunk and occasionally a layup.

I'm not saying that your statement isn't valid or that you're lying, but I am absolutely, definitely experiencing it.

I just checked the settings and if you turn off Shot Timing and Layup Timing, it defaults to Real Player % so you what you are seeing is definitely very weird. Did you turn shot meter off in the HUD as well?

Ok last thing from me for now as we should probably make a separate thread about shooting, but green or miss is slightly different for rhythm shooting. It seems you can make a shot with your timing off as long as you get the rhythm correct and with excellent. I normally play with the shot feedback off, but I turned it on just to see why some shots went in and others didn’t and every time I hit rhythm as excellent, the shot went in. The only difference was that all my excellent-excellent were most likely swishes while the early/slightly early/slightly late/late with an excellent rhythm had great rim physics. (EDIT: I see this was brought up earlier, so looks like it’s already known).

Not sure if anyone here also uses rhythm shooting, but this is kind of cool because I’ve gotten better results in terms of types of shots made and the physics off the rim than the last two years.

Also it seems that they have actual animations for when you are late or early, so it does make it a bit more difficult since I’m not using the meter and just shoot based on when my player releases the ball, but now you need to actually get the timing down on the stick on he way down too otherwise the animation is slightly late or early too. Will need more time but so far I’m actually enjoying the shooting on HOF as between that and the AI playing way tougher defense, it’s much more of a challenge out of the box. I’m sure I’ll have some more positives and negatives soon.
