vbulletin is half the problem but yeah it doesn't seem like ownership cares about this place.

For years OS had been my outlet. I’ve come here almost daily for the past 16/17 years. Didn’t realize how good we had it until now.

If it helps, here's what Steve shared elsewhere in the forums:

I know how important these forums have been to so many people over the years. The truth is, the old system was on borrowed time. If we hadn’t upgraded, we risked losing everything when it inevitably crashed. I hate that the transition caused so much disruption, but it was something that had to be done to keep the community and its history intact.

I’ve done everything I can to address each issue that’s come up, but right now we only have one person handling the long list of fixes. It’s slower than anyone would like and I wish there was a faster way to get it all where it needs to be.

Believe me, I know how much life these forums used to have and it’s painful to see that activity drop off. I care about this place and the people here more than you probably realize. I’m still here every day, doing what I can to get things back to a better place, even if progress feels slower than it should.

I think it is definitely the layout. The previous version was much better. The new layout caused a lot of folks to lose profile pics and quotes that they had up for years. It just doesn't look or feel right.
