I get that they are prioritizing online play with the first couple patches, but every single one has had a disclaimer at the beginning that there is a bigger patch coming that will affect all game modes. I wouldn't expect any offline updates until we get that one. These initial patches are just quick and easy fixes for some online modes. I'm am 100% certain we will see some offline fixes in the first real patch.Comment

Not defending or agreeing with 2K's approach, just stating the facts.Last edited by scottyp180; 09-19-2025, 03:35 PM.👍 1Comment

Yeah but us offline players don't pay extra for VC so we aren't the highest priority. They need to keep the online players interested and engaged so those users keep investing. Offline players who own the game already invested all the money they're going to spend on 2k26. Every offline player could stop playing the gaming and it wouldn't effect 2k, but if the online players fall off then that impacts 2Ks profits.

They fixed the drive and kick playbook issue already so I’d rather they wait until we get closer to the real season to make updates since there isn’t much else that’s glaring that they need to fix right now.Comment

These updates have nothing to do with 2k’s profit margin (for once). The game has only been out a few weeks and we’re not even close to the first NBA games starting. Rosters aren’t finalized yet so making offline updates right now when they are going to make much larger updates in a few weeks plus be a waste of resources. So the only changes to make are for online since it isn’t impacted as much by real NBA games.

I think for offline gamers, such as myself, part of the issue is the perception. It's clear and obvious that the online community is the focus, which leads to concerns that any gameplay changes that end up being made will be based on feedback from the online community, not people who are predominantly playing against the CPU.
I've said it in other threads but the decision to go with "Green or miss" is all the evidence we need. That decision was based on "community feedback" and I find it hard to believe offline players were pushing for it.Comment

But here's part of it, and it's possible I missed it, did 2K ever say anything about the drive and kick issue? I never saw anything from 2K stating there was an issue and that they fixed it. I don't have the game so the only reason I knew about the issue and that it was fixed was from watching videos and reading comments here.

I understand and agree with the concerns as I split my time 50/50 with offline and online and play a lot more MyNBA once the holiday season comes up. But this early in the year, there isn’t much they can or should be doing for offline until the season starts. My only complaint was the drive and kick and needing to manually update CPU strategies, but since that’s been fixed I’d prefer for them to wait until they get more concrete feedback from everyone and not just make early changes because of a few people that feel a certain way about gameplay this early on. Need to see what happens in the real NBA with the rosters before they start making any other changes (I also selfishly like the gameplay better this year than 2k25 since the CPU rotates better on defense).👍 1Comment

Might be a hot take here but I got the game this weekend and played my first Play Now game. I actually thought the game played good. The fast speed took some getting used to but it felt nice and smooth to me. Graphics seem slightly improved over last year, especially arena lighting. I did see some drive and kick but it wasn’t too over the top. It wasn’t nearly the train wreck I was expecting.Comment

That’s not a hot take. 2k26 is better than 2k25 now that they fixed the strategies. I guess it’s just a personal take depending on who likes green or miss and who doesn’t (which tbf last year I was making just as many shots offline as I am this year on superstar, so not seeing as much of an impact).👍 1Comment

scottyp180 yeah, real % is a whole different game. I personally like the real %. But I like the reward of timing too. But real % you'll definitley have more randmoness and I say the sim aspect kicks in more. If you got a player with a low shooting skill set from certain positions and his rating is lower, you're going to get some lower FG % on the stat lines. Sliders are your friend if you want the cpu to ease down on their shooting % too. Obviously the cpu is all pre set to whether the ball is going in or not. It's always been a tough decision for me to do user timing or real %. Overall, I usually stick with real player % over user timing. Obviously if you master the timing with all your shooters, it's going to be easier to win too.Comment
