Is there like a default points of emphasis for defense? I know if you left the defensive settings on auto then they would automatically play that player on how they should based on their attributes.

I haven't messed around with it much yet though.

Yes, I would like the ability to customize defensive settings. I wonder if this is something that can be patched.

Sundown: good job with the Minnesota example. After I played them, I was begging for defensive settings.

In the meantime, I'd like to figure out what the Points of Emphasis actually do to live up to their names. This might help all of us so we get what we asked for when we select one. For example, when I called nothing inside, it seemed like I was getting a lot of doubles outside of the paint. This wasn't what I wanted.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing, is there a place to read patch notes?

Oh, and I am certainly on board with everyone's frustration about defensive settings being taken out. Hopefully 2K will here us and patch it back in!

Love that they're removed. Much more realistic with having coach priorities.

They don't leave shooters unless you select "nothing inside" etc.

This is real basketball - a coach doesn't go "play ray Allen deny ball/tight /over etc. That's arcade and is a joke. Players should play a player based on his tendencies etc. That's what's happening....

While I am completely bummed that these options have been taken away, I will say it is still possible to carry out a gameplan. You just have to be a beast on the sticks to do it. You've got to constantly be switching between off ball and on-ball defense to pull it off. While I enjoy the added level of challenge that this adds, it would be nice to have actual assignments available

I will say that this years 2k is the most fun that i have had on the defensive end. I think this comes from the fact that defenses really act like real defenses in this game. There is proper help and rotations, and you can effectively shade and funnel ball handlers towards your help. Also, the controls feel really responsive. Charges, hands up and hands in passing lanes all work how they should and make it feel like you have a counter to most of what the offense is doing.

Really? I didn't see it in the pre-install Quick Game or Quick Games after the install. Where is it under?

On the loading screen settings...you can tap r1 and access the pick and individual settings for the starters
