Finally got some time to play and servers are down

Why does everything else work? I can earn vc in quickmatches, the online store works fine....so annoying.

I always defended 2k and accepted this as nextgen startup issues but now im starting to feel like they just dont care enough this is unacceptable

Yesterday I was playing MyCareer mode until about 4pm UK Time (GMT) where I got disconnected and couldn't get back on, everytime I clicked MyCareer it would just send me back to the menu, I hope this is server issues and not MyCareer glitching again....

Just had a thought, but what if this is a much bigger issue than the servers? I haven't tried it myself, but I see people posting that they are still able to input Locker Codes and redeem for VC, as well as still earn VC in quick matches. How exactly is that even possible (especially redeeming a code) if the server has us completely locked out? These things aren't stored on the disc or our hard drive. That's why when PSN goes down for instance, u can't redeem any codes in the. PSN store, or access the store at all for that matter. Maybe 2k's complete silence is indicative of this being a much bigger problem than even 2k wants to admit. To be clear, when the servers were legimately down, we weren't getting the "searching for Internet" message it's currently saying, at least I wasn't. Hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but perhaps this is a whole new problem beyond just the server just being down. And by no means does that excuse 2k. If true, than it's the exact opposite and someone from 2k needs to make a statement of some sort communicating to we the consumers of what steps are being taken and what resolution we can expect. Instead we're simply left in the dark

The steps you got is then they have a Dev working on it and ronnie 2k will give you info when he has it

Still down for me too. Stopped working around 4-5pm yesterday, shortly after my MyGM bugged out after I won a game 7 to make the Finals. I won the game but then I couldn't advance the playoffs, the computer series was at 3-2. I tried everything I could think of to get it to play but nothing worked. Three season of building the Bucks and finally had an excellent team and at least 3 years with young starters... down the drain. So I was building a new MyGM with the Bobcats when the servers died. So pissed since its the weekend and I want to play some...

Got out of bed thinking the servers would be finally up by now. I put in 2K and it's still forcing me to make a My Player. What have the devs been doing these past 24 hours? Ronnie tweeted yesterday they're trying to fix it. Doubt it.

I'm also from Australia (seeing the others guys' posts) and I only started experiencing this about Saturday midday, so that'd be 28th December midday Australian time, not sure if that means anything but felt I should say it

I was able to do MyCareer and MyGM pretty much all throughout Saturday here in Australia.

I haven't been able to get on this morning. At the bottom it just says "Checking for internet connection," but when I try to go into MyCareer, it tells me the servers aren't available. I have a harder time coping with it when it's in the morning like this when many in the US aren't even awake to play yet.

Yeah its 8am where im at ronnie 2k said there were devs working on it yesterday then last night it changed to just a dev ...if there is even 1 person working on it its gonna take forever

Everyone whos unable to play - were you kicked out after using VC to upgrade skills, or buying accessories? Im not sure why this process is separate from other online functions, but apart from downloading rosters this is the only thing not connecting to the servers. Im still uploading info to the cloud, still earning VC thru quick play, locker codes, the app etc.

No sense of urgency from 2K here. Im going on 40 hours of being unable to play.

Yup. I highly doubt they have many people working on it on the weekend. Maybe they will finally upgrade their servers, but that process would require more downtime.

You can play the game. You just can't play your online file.

Also, a movie theater ticket for a 2 hour movie is like $12. That is 10 hours for $60. I have put much more than 10 hours into this game. MUCH MORE and that doesn't count the amount post server fix.

Yes, it's super annoying what is happening and 2K definitely needs to be more responsive. But acting so irrational, childish and downright entitled as some people are here, is no better.

Well every file is an online file so that doesn't fly.

And the money analogy doesn't work. Otherwise I should be perfectly fine if my MacBook beaks after 3 months. Or maybe it's that $1,000 equals 26,000 hours of entertainment. In that case games are way behind.
