Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team

I've done it this way, twice. First time was with a SF, second time with a PG. Both times I got traded to my favorite team (the raptors), which is also the one I selected after the show-case. Both times I was traded the first time I asked for a trade when the option to ask your GM to trade you was available.

It doesn't matter what your team chemistry or GM relationship is. Simply select your team and only your team when the GM asks you to pick some teams to go to. Since the raptors have plenty of players in the 70-75ovr range, it was a straight-up swap with the raptors kicking in a first rounder.

With my PG however I had to get his overall up to be on par with kyle lowry (think i was 83ovr, Lowry is 80 or 81ovr), whom they traded for me straight up in my second MC.

I'm in the process of testing this for a third time. I think all that really matters is to just pick one team, the same one you selected after the showcase. I've heard others having success with this as well. Just make sure your guy doesn't have an overall 80+ because that makes it harder to trade for you.

Further proof and confirmation that this method does indeed work.

I think the variables are the "cutscenes" that are supposed to be played out. Also if it helps I played through the ankle injury(was 10 point lower for 2 games then healed), didnt want to miss till allstar break and go past the trade deadline. I kinda rushed my way to january in other tries and missed a few cutscenes. If you let all the scenes play out I think this works.

This is a completely different method than what Im talking about and that doesnt always work since the normal trade process can be really unpredictable at times. And your overall doesnt matter because you will always get traded to the team you pick for draft picks and a low rated player no matter how high your overall rating is.

Okay cool. See I didnt play through the ankle injury. I missed like 2 or 3 games and then got traded shortly after that. Im guessing it just mainly has to with the timing and cutscenes.

This works like a charm, I was very unhappy at Philly and request a trade to a very talented Indiana Pacers squad.

Yeah this finally worked for me, I tried late in December and got traded to the Bucks. Played with the Bucks till late January, saw that my Celtics were the #1 team with interest, I wasn't a starter and my team Chemistry was only around 65 but my GM releationship was in the 90s...thought what the heck i'll go for it and i'm on the Celtics. Thanks again Sir Duke

I wish I had seen this thread a couple of days ago... I just got traded from Detroit to Atlanta, & I want to go to The Bulls... could I use this method with my 2nd team... I'm going to try it, but I'd like to know if anyone else has... I'm not starting either, so perhaps I should become a starter 1st... I was about to become a starter right when I left Detroit too.

Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team

Yes, the method does work. I stumbled upon that method on my own. I thought about creating a thread for it, but it looks like there already is one.

I wasn't even trying to get traded when it happened 2 me. In my athletic pg mycareer I got drafted by the Pelicans. I started from a prospect, and worked my way up 2 a starter. I was a great teammate, carried peoples bags, I accepted a side kick role for Jrue Holiday, and I always said things were going great 2 the GM. I did everything except wear that clown nose. The problem was our best player, Jrue Holiday, was riding the bench at 18 mins a game. After 20 or so games of Jrue on the bench, a requested to the GM, that they trade Jrue, cuz it makes no sense that our best player was on the bench and I hoped they would trade for a true center. After playing a few more gms, the trade rumors start, and then the meeting with my GM comes, and he says I've been traded 2 the Lakers. I was traded for Jordan Farmar and a 1st and 2nd round pick. I love the lakers and everything, but I was devastated that the Pelicans traded me. I loved running the pick n roll w/ the brow. I really miss it playing with predominately w/ Kaman & Gasol. Now I'm just hoping my second yr w/ the lakers isnt effed up, from bad roster moves by my CPU GM..

Do you need to basically accept every team in the draft interviews can't say no?

It doesnt matter. You could do whatever you want im the draft interviews. Where you get drafted or how you get drafted makes no difference.

If you only play the Next Key Games, does this hurt your chances of being traded to your favorite team? For example, you'll meet with the GM less times?
