My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team

So I know theres a lot of people out there frustrated with the My Career trading process and being drafted and traded to teams they arent particularly fond of. This is a method I have used to get traded to my favorite team which is picked in the pre draft process and can be used to get traded to any team by manipulating your GM into trading you.

I accidentally come up with this method aftee being unintentionally traded from the 76ers for trying to get Evan Turner traded. I was traded to the Sacramento Kings who I picked as my favorite team because I thought I would have liked to be drafted by them. After this happened a fellow OS member CarelessWhisper mentioned that he and his friend Lance Tejada tested this method as well. After realizing that the process I had gone through was what he described, I decided to test this out. I created another two My Careers to test this process out. After today in which I was successfully traded to the San Antonio Spurs from the Cavs I decided to share the process I used to get traded. In this method are not asking for a trade but sabotoging your GM relationship into forcing him to trade you without notice. This relies on you picking your favorite team predraft and you will not be picking three teams. Use at your own risk. There may be other variables at play that I have overlooked or not accounted for. That being said, here is my trade method:

MANIPULATING YOUR GM TO TRADE YOU TO THE TEAM OF YOUR CHOOSING

    1. After the rookie showcase pick youre favorite team. Make absolutely sure you want to go to this team because there is no way to change your mind or change teams as you will be traded to this team after this process. You dont want to waste 40 games trying to get to a team to then realize you want to go elsewhere so there is only one option. Youre not asking for a trade so there is no picking options or picking 3 teams. So keep all of this in mind. You only pick 1 team prior to draft interviews. This is the key to the whole process.

    2. You must answer all interview questions attempting to be a good teammate and in all cutscene scenarios choose the options that increase your teammate chemistry. Wear the clown nose, stand up for your teammates, get ejected, carry your teammates luggage, etc.

    3. Keep a good relationship with your GM, you dont want to be traded prematurely.

    4. About 25 games in your agent will take to you about being able to ask for a trade soon. A few games after you start to get an option to ask for a trade when the GM checks in on you. This is very important. During any point in this process, DO NOT ASK FOR A TRADE. This will mess up the method and get you traded normally. The whole point of this is to manipulate the GM into trading you.

    5. This is the whole key to the process. When the GM comes to check in on you, tell the GM you do not get along with a teammate. When you pick a teammate, pick the STAR teammate. This is the highest rated teammate and the one who asserts himself as the star of the team during cutscenes, i.e. the one who you watch film with, asks you to be his sidekick, etc. Whem the GM asks if this is seriously an issue and whether you can resolve this pick "no, trade him" The GM will say he will see what he can do and blah blah blah.

    6. The timing of this is very important. DO NOT ASK YOURE TEAMMATE TO BE TRADED IN DECEMBER. Reason being is that the key to this process is the team you picked will be the most interested team in you. Your favorite team will not show interest in you until January when you become a starter. The option will first come up in December but dont choose it. Wait until after you become a starter.

    7. Once you become a starter your star teammate will ask you to be his sidekick. By this time your team chemistry should be in the 90s. In the process I used, I told my teammate to go f*** himself when I got asked to be his sidekick. It should drop your teammate chemistry to 84% and around this time you will get a GM conversation.

    8. After the sidekick conversation the very next GM conversation, ask for your teammate to be traded. Pick the star teammate. Two things will happen. Your teammate chemistry will go down to 76-79% if you told your teammate that you aint no sidekick. Secondly your GM relationship will go down to 1%. This is what you want. Your GM will be fed up with you and will look to trade you.

    9. Once you go back to the main my career menu you should see yourself in the rumor mill. Once you play a game or two your agent will come to you in the arena tunnel and tell you whats going on and that you may be traded and show you a list of interested teams. Your favorite team will show the most interest.

    10. The whole process takes about 5 games. Just keep playing normally and you'll get another GM conversation soon. Dont ask for a trade, just tell your GM youre doing great. This should be 5 games after you asked him to trade your star teammate.

    11. When you continue to the next game the GM will meet with you and tell you it wasnt working out and that youve been traded. You will be traded to the team you choose at the the beginning of the pre draft process if youve followed these steps correctly.

    13. Important Notes-
You may have to regain youre starting spot. Dont worry about this, just give it some time. This seems to be pretty random in occurence.

Also, dont worry about your rating. You will not be traded for a star teammate no matter if youre a high rated player. The GM will trade you for a low rated player of your position and draft picks. In my case I was traded for Ben Mclemore and picks from the 76ers to the Kings or in my current my career I was traded for Danny Green and picks from the Cavs to the Spurs. I was an 82 rated SG each time.

You should be traded by late January/early February depending on what you told your athletic trainer and how many games you missed.

If you arent happy with the team and you want to ask foe a trade afterwards then you s*** outta luck because the normal trade process is a pain in the *** after this point because your GM relationship is only 70% because this is a new team and because this is so close to the trade deadline meaning if you ask for a trade at this point you probably wont be sent to one you choose. Make absolutely sure this is what you want.

Thats the whole process. Use this to get traded to the team of youe choosing.

this isnt 100% foolproof. I tried multiple times trying to get on rockets as PF(rating 68) and got traded to other random teams or not traded at all.

Nope its not. Just because its worked for me and other people 100% doesnt mean its gonna work for everyone 100% Like I said, there might be some other variables at play that we're overlooking. I tried this three times exactly the same and it worked every time. Another time when I tried it in December and I wasnt traded and then later on wad subsequently traded to a random team. But my deduction from the process is that it has mostly to do with the timing of the trade. What process did you go through exactly in the times you've done it? There is obviously something in the process that is working for some people and not working for others and it would help to hear peoples trade experiences to gather more insight into the process. Obviously there is something Im doing and that other people are doing that are causing us to get traded to only our predraft selected team. Im not sure why this happens but this is method is how Ive gotten to that result.

Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team

I am pretty far into my career to use this method. I was planning on taking my team (Timberwolves) to one more championship then asking for a trade. I want to be traded to the Thunder and they are always within the top 4 teams most interested in me.

However, I noticed when you finish a season it seems interested teams gets reset. Is this true? Is there a way for me to make it to the Thunder and/or reset the game to a earlier save if I get traded to a random one?

I'm talking if I ask for a trade. I haven't done it before. My team chem and GM chem is at 100% at the moment.

Yeah this is pretty much for anyone who might be thinking of starting a new my career and might want to try this. The team interest thing seems to be cyclical according to team needs and also what team you told your agent you want to play for. Whatever team you told youe agent you would like to go to prior to the draft is the team youre agent will be pulling for. It seems at a certain point if youre doing well a large number of teams seem to take interest in you where like all the teams are green. So it shouldnt be an issue I would just wait till OKC are in that green meter near the top of the list. I saw a My Career livestream with Ronnie 2k and Ld2k and they were talking about how tou need to keep those chemistry and gm relationship ratings up but also keep in mind that teams trade for need. So if youre an SF or PG, OKC might not be the best place. They also said instead of picking 3 teams to just pick one if youre really intent on going to a certain place. Also, if you traded to a random team yiu need to rebuild your relationships again before asking for another trade. If you get traded and ask for a trade immediately after then youre gonna keep being traded ti random teams. Ive seen a lot of people do this and then wonder wtf is going on lol and then complain about how no one gets traded where they want. But part of the trade process is a random crapshoot so who knows what will happen lol. Youre can definitely get traded to the Thunder but its gonna take patience and you cant reset to an earlier save. So if you get traded to a random team just wait and let your chemistry ratings go up before you try again. The earlier in the season you do it though the better.

I started a new career with the intent of doing just this. Unfortunately, i jumped the gun and asked the gm to trade my teammate in december, and my favourite team has no interest in me whatsoever. Ill see if i can delete my latest save or something, otherwise its time to start over...

Thanks for your efforts man. Out of curiosity, what positions and teams have you successfully done this with?

Anyone know a foolproof method to get traded to a desired team after playing a couple seasons? Every year I ask for trades they never trade me to the teams I select and one time the cavs traded me back to the cavs.

Also in the offseason the gm always checks on you but all the team interests are reset so I've never tried asking for a trade offseason. Does this work?

Theres no foolproof way. Kinda like the real NBA I guess. But yeah the trade process is a pain in the butt. Have you been repeatedly asking for trades though because that only makes things worse and harder to get traded to a team of your choice.

You can still keep going. You just need to restore your GM chemistry ASAP. If you did this before he mentions the whole starting lineup thing then be humble in your answers and your relationship will go up 22% each time preventing him from trading you and buying you some time. I did this and screwed up like you did. But basically restore the relationship and try again in January and see if it works. Heres the teams

76ers- Kings- 82 ovr SG traded for Ben Mclemore, 1/2 picks

Pelicans- Bobcats- 64 ovr C traded for Josh McRoberts

Hawks- Magic- I screwed this one up intentionally but still managed to get traded to the team I choose somehow. 64 ovr PG traded for random scrub Magic pg I forgot lol

Cavs-Spurs- 81 ovr SG traded for Danny Green 1/2 picks

Ahh okay thanks for the reply. Yeah, Thunder is always in the green. In fact, a ton of teams are lol. But I didn't know you can select just one team instead of HAVING to pick 3.

Also, since most teams are yellow right after a new season, I will wait until they are green again then ask for a trade the first GM meeting after the original one at the start of the season.

I was hoping they would move Westbrook to SG and me to point or me to SG since we are both PG/SG positions if I got traded there.

I stand corrected, Thanks a lot man. I did everything mentioned in your method to the T - be a good team mate, all positive responses and boom Im on the rockets(my fav team during predraft quiz) now. Also they didnt trade any stars to get me. I really think this method is foolproof if you do exactly as it says. Im a 6 10' center on phx rated 91 and they traded me to the rockets for omer asik and 1st 2nd round picks. Now I am playing PF with Howard at C, the return of twin towers in Houston. thanks a lot again. It really works.

Cool man thats awesome. Great to hear it worked out for you. I know after trying this a few times and seeing it work for other people it had to be foolproof and people who have variations are missing or overlooking some detail. Awesome. Further proof and confirmation that this method does indeed work.
