Re: Does 2K Even Care About Making the Game Realistic Anymore?
This couldn't be further from the truth. Every, and I mean EVERY team runs plays in the "real" NBA. The Knicks run plays even for Melo to get him in his hot spots to run those iso plays you're speaking of. The game HAS changed but make no mistake, their still has to be some form of organization to be successful. I think your untrained eye misses all the weak side activity that goes on."I BALL FOR REAL, YALL DUDES IS SAM BOWIE."

I think he was dead serious, and didn't understand the work involved to get those clearouts for Anthony. Remember a great deal of the user base has never played "organized" ball. They at best know a basic pick and roll, and isolation, and thats it. And some will even look at a pick and roll like "what's that big motha***** doing? Get his *** back under the rim to rebound incase I miss".Comment

Re: Does 2K Even Care About Making the Game Realistic Anymore?
I think all this would be less of an issue if defense was more of a priority; and no, I don't mean more steals and blocks, I mean actually being able to play on-ball d without the delay/lag and actually being able to rely on the cpu to be smart on rotations.
I noticed so many open threes because I'll allow a weak finisher into the paint so one of my bigs can contest, and my wings just completely disregard their men to come down into the paint too.
Other times the cpu switches for no reason leaving someone open..
I don't know if defense is just bad, or again, 2K wants to cater to the casuals and make offense more "intriguing". (I put it in quotes because REAL fans would rather call a beautiful play intriguing, NOT turboing into the paint for a posterizer finish.)I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Re: Does 2K Even Care About Making the Game Realistic Anymore?
2k could solve all their problems with some better fouling. fouling has become a strategy in itself. the only real defense in real life as well as the game for a drivin lebron is a foul. i should be able to trigger a foul whenever i want. they also need to put more emphasis on tendencies and awareness. the difference between kobe and vince carter isnt ability its shot choice and awareness. lets make bad players do dumb things.Comment

Watching the King of the Court finals really shows how serious the balance issues are in NBA 2K14 with regard to zone defenses and alley oops.

Both players run a 1-3-1 defense with constant double teaming. The Thunder user spams alley oops like crazy, and has no difficulty repeatedly throwing them down through traffic, even with players like Steven Adams.
This is a pretty good picture of what it's like trying to play NBA 2K14 online.Comment

Thought it was going to be about more offline experiences than on. Since I'm too cheap to pay for a PS Plus account.
Wanna know what's really unrealistic? I don't care how many times an AI controlled teammate gets a step and and streaking to the hoop or you run that pick and roll the way it's meant to be run...those no-look pass deflection makes me wanna reach up and pull the moon into the earth.
That is all.Comment

Re: Does 2K Even Care About Making the Game Realistic Anymore?
"Blah blah blah, why should I stop running zone if you can't score against it?"
This game is at FIFA pressure and lob ball abuse levels. I'm still on current gen but I've played online at my friend's and watched how OP these tactics are. The problem with 1-3-1 is A: The scramble and hot potato defense which doesn't punish users for blowing defense B: Defense can recover faster than the ball swings around, especially with double team spam or switching of defensive sets C: There is no punishment for playing defense for 2 seconds and switching to everyone on the court to avoid playing the ball. D: The offense doesn't react accordingly to it unless you're constantly calling isos and changing sets to move players around for passes.
Offball fouls need to be implemented because defenders have the ability to hold cutters and not give them space to move, which results in the bobbled pass.Comment
