If Kerr accepts a coaching job, is it a must that he be removed from the commentary? If so, that would seem quite complicated for 2K, no? Do they have contingency plans for something like this?

I didn't make Van Gundy a choice because he's already on NBA Live.

            Of course it is!!

2K and Sony are ALL about realism. How in the world can a guy call the game and he's sitting there on the sideline coaching the game too. This is why EA took Mark Jackson out of NBA Live when he took the Warriors job.

You can't have Steve Kerr talking about Steve Kerr....

            Hello??????

              Hello??????
By "must" I meant as in, legally obligated. Commentary seems as though it'd be very time consuming and complicated to piece together. I was more wondering aloud whether 2K prepares for a situation like this, where one of their announcers gets a head coaching gig four or five months before product completion, thus rendering their commentary slightly bizarro.

Basically, I was just wondering about the process. Would 2K be able to shuffle in another voice, have him record all of Kerr's lines and have them completely line up with Kevin Harlan and Clark Kellogg's dialogue?

As I think further, I'm guessing it's quite do-able, as I recall the color man being switched out in a couple of other years, and while the voice changed, it was apparent the same general lines or interactions remained. Also, I'm guessing commentary comes in later in development, as each new 2K usually references the previous season's playoffs.

Bill Walton was actually the color man on NBA 2K5.

steve kerr is on a few of the legend teams isnt he? in any case if they really cared about the realism in commentary then clark kellogg wouldnt be in the game at all. i dont think ive ever heard him do an nba broadcast irl.

Really, how is Hubie Brown not winning this. He is an absolute legend and breaks down basketball better than anyone.

Fact Reggie Miller is winning is scary.

I would agree that Hubie is perfect for commenting on the game play-by-play (something which 2K comes up short on) and he already says stuff like "he shoots so and so % from the corner and he's excellent at the pick and roll" but I think people might not be able to get over his acerbic North-Eastern accent.

Reggie's younger and already does commentary with Kenny Harlan.
