So defensive settings are coming back for 2K15, right?

The points of emphasis system is an abomination. I want to be able to manually set how I want to defend the pick n roll, and which players I want to play tight or sag off, etc. All POE does is take control away from the user.

Hell, why can't they just patch it into 2K14?

There's no word on if this will be back in the game next year.
Personally, I think the PoE do work but you should be able to fine-tune and customize it yourself. Sometimes you just want to play tight on a couple of players and you should be able to set this independetly of the PoE.

Why do I have to play tight on Dennis Rodman when I want to play tight on Dennis Scott. Thats why it doesnt work. Or I want "Nothing Inside" but if Stephen Curry is at the 3pt line get in his face.

Question, is there a setting to make the CPU not help? Like I want to slack off D on ball but when I do the cpu runs and covers him.

I like the POE system, especially on offense with the auto playcalling system. I still feel as though if I want a certain player to be played tightly, I can make that adjustment so my defender wouldn't drift away to the paint because they think or know someone is driving and give up an easy 3.

POE is only a good thing in addition to manual defensive settings otherwise as OP said it's an abomination.

I doubt it's coming back. 2K has changed.

Yeah they have taken control away and want us to play the game their way. This is ridiculous, I hate POE. It doesn't work and the CPU always does what it wants, I'm so sick and tired of brain dead teammates AI on defense and loose ball situations. Why does every block go back to the CPU and loose balls going out of bounds almost EVERYTIME goes to the CPU. 2k has taken a step back and live isn't in the realm yet but hopefully if live can get it's brain back we might see better games thru competition.

Exactly. A combination between the two would be great if you could set.

Re: So defensive settings are coming back for 2K15, right?

POE isn't really an abomination but the fact that the defensive settings / coach profiles still exist under the hood (you could still use them before the day 1 patch) and we're denied access is really awful.

It's one of numerous steps 2K has done to try to appeal to some fictional demographic that will not buy a game if there's some optional thing they might not use. You'd think the big data collection 2K does of everything users do in the game would be beneficial for the game but so far it seems all it has done is make 2K screw their enthusiast base that made them what they are today. Gone are the settings, practice modes, online associations, crews, some of the playbooks etc.

One can only hope they might be back next year just like we can hope they bring back online associations, crews. But the fact that it's still there and would just require 2K to enable access to another menu points to that they don't intend to bring it back since they haven't patched it in.

Is it really that bad? I mean I still have the Current Gen version and imo POEs would be a better alternative than watching these kids go in the defensive settings, throw Play Tight/Deny Ball on everyone and crank the Defensive Pressure and Help Defense in the coach profiles all the way to 100 lol.

I always just figured that they took out defensive settings because 2k14 was rushed. But who knows. I fully expect them back next year but poe aren't that bad.

That's one reason I like the poe. It was always annoying seeing people set all their settings before every single game. Poe gives simple settings which can easily be set up. Maybe have defensive settings exclusive to games against the computer.

ALOT of things would have to come back for me to buy this product again. After years and years, i am utterly disappointed with this totally unfinished piece of beta software.

Keep POE and add defensive settings. POE works well for offensive playcalling.
