I don't like how there is no depth or strategy to actually being a GM. It is basically earn VC (or buy it) and unlock all of the tiers to be successful. I play it in replacement of my association mode. Also wish there was more depth to it like relocations or expansion teams...It is alright.

Most people don't like it because lack of CPU control and you can't do it online or with a friend locally.

I haven't played a full game in over a month. Tired of my CPU controlled players leaving their man for no reason at all.

If they would do something the effectiveness of POE I'd have a better answer for you.

it really depends what youre looking for. the modes are different than the cg version. mygm has seen mixed reviews; some love it and some hate it. same with my career. one thing to note is that vc is in every mode and is needed for everything.

on the court its a big graphical upgrade but other than that it plays almost identical to cg. ai and commentary is pretty much the same as cg also.

the other huge drawback for the xb1/ps4 versions is that everything is kept on 2ks servers. this means there are no local saves and you must be online and connected to 2k to use your saves. if the servers are down for any reason youre pretty much limited to quick games. the other drawback of this is that you can lose your saves at any time (getting a save corrupted message) and the only option is to delete it and hope 2k gives you back the vc you spent.

Honestly, I've never played association on 30 teams control mode, so MYGM is great IMO.

This is my, by far, most played game I got. Not even FIFA 14 or BF4 give me as much fun as this game does.

The only thing I can criticize about this is the Virtual Curreny system. But once you play a few games and upgradeMYGM mode and upgraded a few perks (less than 10 games played I'd say) you don't need 'em anymore and you can fully play the game changing your rotations, trading, etc. Honestly, I have like 40K VC that I will not use and don't need to use.

If you get it a fair price (lets say 20-25 bucks) I'd totally get it.

Re: is this game worth a purchase

I consider myself to be a basketball aficionado and I have the mentality that "basketball never stops." However, I am trading this game in tomorrow and either purchasing MLB The Show or I'll save the money on a gift card.

I played this game endlessly for the first few months it came out and it's the only game I own for the PS4 but the overbearing VC, lack of control, and server/bugs this game has ruins it for me.

This will be the first time I'm trading in a basketball game before the next one comes out and I'm not even sure I'll be buying 2K15. No bias, fan-boy criticism, or praise here, just giving you an honest opinion.

If you are looking for a decent basketball game that you can just pick-up and casually play, then this is the game for you. If you care about stat-tracking, realism, and being able to control your game style...this is NOT the game for you.

You're at the mercy of the RPG element in the game. You must do this or you must do that or risk the err of your owner. I don't like being pipelined down a path. Canned script is the ruse they use to make you feel like the game is deep when its nothing more than a linear experience.

That and the lack of administrative control is mind boggling. The general consensus has always been about more user control and they deliberately went in the opposite direction.

No. I grabbed this along with AC for the PS4's launch, and shortly afterwards traded it in. Don't regret it in the least. You're not missing much at all by not picking this up but if you must play it, either buy used or a retail copy that is going for $39.99

Paying full price for this is one of my only regrets concerning launch.

No. The only thing going well for this gen is the graphics. Game modes are bland and broken. Online Quick ranked is terrible.. you'll be lucky to even finish a game. As others have said here, getting past the 1st quarter online is tough. Overall, 2k should be ashamed of themselves. The graphics might hook you for a while but once you get past that, you get a product that offers broken game modes. Such a shame that MyTeam has essentially become 'Pay-to-play' thanks to the VC nerf and the newly added 'contracts' feature.

dude, its as simple as this.

do you wanna hoop or not ?

if you do, then get it.

these fake ballers around here will always criticize.

they are the same guys who are too good to play ball

on rims with no net and cracked pavement at their local park.

if you got the time and you love basketball

                        the choice is obvious.

                        otherwise, just enjoy the playoffs

                        like a fan should

So people who spent the money on said game have every right to complain if its not working right, I've said this before 2k has been sitting on their hands and is doing nothing to right the ship, EA came out and admitted live was flawed and seemed to be committed to fixing it

Not trying to sound like an early sports apologist or 2k basher as I play NBA and WWE 2k and a regular madden player as well

I'm not trying to bash 2k or come off as an EA sports fanboy, but maybe once things on both sides are fixed this will be good for all basketball fans, at least until one side locks up exclusive rights to the NBA license lol

How can 2k have a great NBA game on ps3 and 360 with little to no issues, yet the same exact game from the same exact company for ps4 and xb1 have so many issues
