Good to hear. Any chance you can comment...

Are you all removing the offline saving restrictions?
Will VC impact the offline association experience any less than last year?
Are the old defensive settings returning?
Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?

Can't comment on anything specific, but we've taken all this into consideration through feedback on NBA 2K14.

Lol, this made me giggle. There's no way you can look at games like 2k9 or 2k11, then look at next gen 2k14 and say that simulation basketball is still the main focus. To many ridiculous poster dunks and ankles getting broken every other trip down court to make such a claim. No disrespect intended. I feel like you guys do a really job of capturing the most exciting plays in basketball. Everyone loves seeing monster dunks, alley oops, and crossovers. But in reality, these things rarely happen. Thats what makes this game more casual than sim.

You guys are targeting more of a casual audience by making these plays super easy to trigger with easy, pick up and play controls, signature skills, etc. Plus all the little haircuts, and clothes, and park dances..These things appeal more to the casual crowd, and there is NOTHING wrong with that, as I respect casual gamers. But there is nothing realistic left in this game for people like me that want that old 2k experience back. No Association, no Isomotion control scheme, no local saves for rosters, no online leagues that can be taken seriously. Its cool that you guys have tapped into the casual crowd, but don't throw the "Simulation" tag on a game that is clearly not a basketball sim anymore.

You guys are getting away from what made you special in the first place. Being that fresh, realistic experience we all fell in love with.

Its time to put up, 2k. And I mean that as respectfully as possible.

Association/MyGM comprise about 99% of my NBA 2K experience and have for years and years.

I wouldn't exactly say the two modes are drastically different. The overall objective is the same. But I think 2K looked at Association Mode and tried to fix things that didn't need to be "fixed" while ignoring (or maybe not seeing) the things that would truly add to the realism aspect so many (including myself) are begging for.

Having discussions with my owner is kind of fun for about an hour. Until you realize just how mechanical and forced (and in so many ways, unrealistic) it is. I just don't need 10,000 unnecessary cut-scenes per season of coaches and Assistant GM's and owners and the arena janitor telling me every detail of their day-to-day life and problems. But I also don't want to ignore it because then I get penalized.

Then you take into account VC which shouldn't have nearly as much of a place in Association/MyGM as it currently does. Having to pay VC to set your damn lineups? Really? I mean......seriously? Like, for-real?

The things that truly add realism to a team-building, dynasty-building mode are things you'd hope to see if you truly owned a team long-term (duh). I'd want to have the ability to build a new arena from a list of pre-constructed options. I'd want to be able to edit the team's name or jersey (or both). I'd want to not just see the HOF retirees' names on a boring-as-heck board but see their jersey possibly hanging in the rafters (how amazing would a jersey retirement ceremony be, even if it's as short as the cutscenes where the Championship winners receive their rings?) and be able to see their statistics, accomplishments and All-time rankings. Having draft reports throughout the season leading up to the draft would add to the excitement of reaching the off-season, especially if you're a rebuilding team with a top pick. Adding a weekly-wrapup segment ala NFL 2K5 and Chris Berman would keep you up to date with the goings on in the league (Sorry but the NBA.com thing is really slow and, again, incredibly repetitive). When you're doing an Association, it shouldn't be ALL about YOUR team. You should actually care about the other teams and their state in the league as well.

Things like these really immerse you in the experience. And more importantly, they have replay value. Even I, one of the most dedicated Association/MyGM players there are in existence, haven't been able to create more than a few teams and take them far at all before the monotony of the mode reared it's ugly head.

Even if the developers decide to implement none of these things, at least make the CPU-created draft classes and simulated statistics more realistic. It bares repeating for yet another year in a row that not all drafted players are incredibly well-rounded. Just because you're a good player doesn't always mean you're going to put up 20-5-5. Sometimes, you're a really good point guard who likes to pass the ball (GASP!) and average 15 and 10. Maybe you're a dominant rebounder who can't pass the ball for anything (a 18/13 guy who barely gets 0.5 assists per game).

Have more pre-set faces so I don't see the same 15-20 faces (with different hair and beard styles) every draft. Make sure most of the players are hard-wired to NOT have ridiculous haircuts, tattoos or accessories.

Sorry for the long rant and there's so much more I could say on the topic but I've probably gone so far off the purpose of this thread that no one has even read up to this point!

Lol stfu ld2k. Sim basketball and when ever i play this game on line or off line the end of the game always shows both teams shooting over 70%

I call serious bull****. You are trying to please the add ridden teenage boys who get their jollies off when they steal the ball and run to the other side and dunk it. That is all they try to do all game. Very sim like considering how inaccurate passes are in this game. I have never seen chris paul pass the ball right to another player over 5 feet away or just toss it out of bounds on the break on a pass with no one guarding either player. Ok that has happened maybe once in his career.

It is like they tried to stop the fast break cross court passes on the break after every rebound and they mad every pass slow and inaccurate as ****.

              Broken game for broken losers.

Wake up and smell the **** coffee. Mygm is association with cutscenes. 2k renamed it so they could add vc to the game mode since it as one of the biggest game modes. People quit on myteam and it just cant be one of the main 2 game modes since people would cry pay 2 win micro transaction $60 game, and people get tired of mycareer after 2 months

The point is vc has ruined this game but made 2 k wealthy. Dont buy vc and they will take it out because i doubt sales will go up,with it in it.

Well, yeah. Not exactly CNN-breaking news there. You're talking to someone who hasn't spent one penny on VC and that will continue for as long as I purchase 2K's game. The idea of having to spend money beyond the $60 for the game, itself, is insulting to me.

But I think you are the one that needs to be realistic. While I won't spend money on VC, I'm in the absolute extreme minority. People WILL spend money on VC and other micro-transactions. Some poster on a message board saying "STOP" isn't going to change anything remotely. 2K didn't add VC to the game because they wanted to experiment with it - they added it because they knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, people would spend money on it. Not just for 2K14 but 2K15 and beyond.

Re: Who is the target audience now?

To answer the question they are clearly targeting the casual fans as MANY games are doing the exact same thing. The problem with 2K right now isn't that they are trying to target the casual fan it's that they are forgetting what made them great. And that is a factor in why casual fans were drawn to the franchise.

Re: Who is the target audience now?

It's funny to me because it seems like it's always a thread like this, then the hype train starts and some previews are posted then we're gaga for 2k again. As far as marketing goes, 2k is a company and they're out to make a profit. Marketing gameplay improvements for the masses has never been done honestly. I only remember when they gave czar the game early and he posted some plays and the devs diaries.

From a gameplay perspective I think it's causal but I don't think it's more or less casual than previous nba 2k's. Scoring is just too easy, just turboing, left right cheese and up and unders exploits like these make me give up on humanity. 2k and all sports video games need to make scoring skilled based and that's where I think hall of fame sim as the default settings for online ranked would help.

Target audience seems like the casual and younger fans who need to spend money to get VC to get all they want out of the game really quick. Would love for 2K to get back to simulation ball but it's really hard to see that happen with all that's going on in 2K basketball games right now.

Highlight like plays most trips down the court, needing VC for everything...not quite what I would call simulation.

While you are right, i am just telling the die hards who are posting in a message board on the game not to buy vc. If vc sales go down and game sales go down (which they will after 2k14, trust me) then you can finally expect 2k to listen and make a good 2k for 2k16. 2k15 is going to be more of the same because they are swimming in money off of the last one.
