Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
What makes you say this is an artificial most shooters shoot better when feet are set and open? Steph Curry shot better spot up then he does off the dribble pullup from 3pt land. Now this can't make someone like Perkins a good shooter though
I put this in a wishlist but they should separate the ratings by:
Contested, open, spotup or off the dribble and then break them down by zones on the courts There would be no complaints if they had that. This came up last yearComment

Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
I disagree, It is a good tool to give you a reference if you are early or late so you know what to adjust. especially when you have guys who have awkward or varied timing on your team. Can it be frustrating to know you were wide open and missed a perfect release? of course, but I would rather have a feedback knowing the shot was a good shot and I am just unlucky rather than have zero point of reference as to what each player proper shot release should look like.Easy fix for 2k REMOVE IT AND FORCE PEOPLE TO USE PRACTICE MODE AND LEARN SHOT RELEASES like in the older 2k's
People are becoming lazy and relying on a green A+ rather than looking at individual shot ratings and tendencies.
A+ release means nothing when shooting a 3 with Reggie Evans right?Comment

You making it to complicated but u got eight idea. All I am saying is tendencies release and individual ratings , hot/ cold spots, passes from "dimers" , "closer " Sig, "catching fire" etc etc already help the offensive player. The only reward you should receive for taking a open shot is your base shot rating should not decrease. If 2k plans on giving all these offensive boost they need to rework the ratings system and shorten the "perfect release " window. What makes you say this is an artificial most shooters shoot better when feet are set and open? If shooting goes back to being too casual friendly like in recent iterations of the game , its gonna be very unrealistic.#SIMNATION

Or they could just make it much harder to get an A+, which would alleviate your complaint completely.Comment

Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
Definitely agree there, but it would need to go much deeper. Off the dribble can be split into floater, dribble right, dribble left, hop step back, hop step right, hop step back, leaner, fade right, fade left, etc. Each shot type should have its own rating that's affected by whether or not they're contested, spot on the floor, fatigue, etc. What makes you say this is an artificial most shooters shoot better when feet are set and open? Shooting release can be casual friendly if it relates to actual numbers but I feel you shouldn't play above your ratings or tendencies. So if Steph shoots 60% open uh he probably will shoot close to that if I leave him open and I get his release down and he isn't fatigued etc. If all of the ratings were in the game that related back to data with some exceptions like if you only shot a small sample There would be less complaintsComment

Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
this game is far from a sim. at least compared to other 2ks i've played. either that or the people on my team are clones who never played ball in their lives.
but they reworked the shooting? i wana see this. i wonder if its going to be on the streamComment

Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
I think they already correlate to fatigue it would be more related to the basics first open, contested, moving, spot up. This is the basic stats that they use already you just don't know what the actual rating is. They get that first it will be less complaints. You have to crawl before you walk with 2K. I think this is a big deal.Definitely agree there, but it would need to go much deeper. Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
you just dont get it...
there litterally is no such thing as a garunteed make in real life.
with this concept, you take anyone 85+ 3pt rating if they are open its garunteed to go in.....Comment

Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
Not really. You're just not able to conceptualize it. In real life, I can take a shot and sometimes, I know immediately if it's going to go in. Just like other times, I know immediately if it's going to miss. Believe it or not, it does happen.
It's just up to the devs to find a balance so it doesn't happen too often, and it's not too easy to get that A+ shot quality.Comment
