Re: NBA 2K15 Official MyLEAGUE/MyGM Thread
That's a pretty nasty squad from top to bottom
Just finished my first season with the Bulls simming two games and playing one on repeat all year.
Finished 56-26 good for second in the East.
In the first round of the playoffs beat the Hawks 3-0(I changed the first round back to a best of 5 #nostalgia)
Second round I faced the #3 seed Heat and quickly fell behind in the series 3-0. I came back to take the series with four straight wins.
In the ECF I again fell behind 3-0 to the #1 seeded Cavs. Yet again I came back and won the series in seven games with four straight wins. Just unbelievable.
Waiting for me in the NBA Finals were the San Antonio Spurs who were the #5 seed out West. After taking a two games to one lead I fell behind 3-2, simmed Game 6 and won and then faced a deciding Game 7 at home for the title. I trailed by 5 at half time and was down one with 4 minutes to go before a run in the final minutes allowed me to win 95-88 to secure the title.
Jimmy Butler won Finals MVP despite Rose having 39 in Game 3 and 27 in the clinching Game 7 including 13 in the 3rd quarter and 8 in the last 4 minutes of the game to seal it.
Butler was the only player for the Bulls to make the ASG. He also made First Team All NBA defense.
In the offseason I let Etwaun Moore walk and resigned Dunleavy and Butler. Butler obviously got a huge contract over 5 years.
In the draft I had the #13 and #30 picks as the Kings pick fell outside the Top 10
With the #13 pick I scooped up Willie Cauley-Stein from Kentucky and at #30 nabbed Jerian Grant from Notre Dame. I then traded Kirk Hinrich to the Jazz for 2nd round picks in '15 and '16 and in the second round picked Chasson Randle from Stanford.
Random draft notes:
-Okafor when #1 overall to the Knicks
-The Wolves took D'Angelo Russell
-Emmanuel Mudiuay was nabbed by the 76ers
In Free Agency I didn't do much, as I had little money to do anything with. I had to let Aaron Brooks go. I just signed a couple undrafted rookies to fill out the 12th and 13th spots on the roster. Those were: Rayvonte Rice and Nigel Hayes
I wanted to get under the tax and pick up some draft picks so I moved Taj Gibson to the Hawks(who lost Millsap in FA).
My current rotation looks like:
PG: Rose/Randle(R)/Rice(R)
SG: Butler/Grant
SF: Snell/McDermott/Dunleavy
PF: Gasol/Mirotic
C: Noah/Stein(R)/Hayes
Dunleavy was my starter last year but it's time to make a change there and play some younger guys. I like my PF/C rotation coming into the season because it's a true offense/defense set up on both lines. Last year it was tough to get offense from that group because playing Gibson as an undersized center hurt and Noah had to log a lot of minutes.
At guard I'm leaning a lot on my draft by Snell can play the off-guard if need be and Grant can get time at the point. Going to be a bit of an adjustment there but I like my youth.
Some random notes:
-Kevin Love ditched Cleveland and signed with Philly
-The Grizzlies missed the playoffs and Marc Gasol left during Free Agency for Atalanta
