Re: NBA 2K15 Official MyLEAGUE Thread

I'm playing a along the NBA season using custom roster (some created players scattered throughout the league), using the Hornets on 12 min/Superstar. So far I'm 25-4, with losses at the Lakers, at Golden State, at Portland and vs Denver. Injuries have became annoying..
Big Al- Broken ankle in game 6, still a couple weeks away
MKG has only played 8 games but will return Friday
      Biyombo just sprained his ankle
Hairston has only played 8 games and is still a month away
My SF broke his ankle 2 weeks ago and is 3 weeks away
Stephenson should return vs OKC after missing a few games
Had to play the 4 games in 5 days the Hornets just did with a 9 man roster.. That was fun for fatigue vs Denver and at Milwaukee

I do account for real life injuries, example Jabari with the torn ACL, Nash and Randle out for year.. Etc.. Just big injuries though..

The Denver loss was the most frustrating, lost by 4, but trailed by 18 in the 3rd Quarter. The Portland loss was on a Lillard 3 at the buzzer. Beat Milwaukee in double overtime on opening night, needed 2 buzzer beaters to do it. Winning at Cleveland wasn't too hard since I fouled out LeBron in the 3rd.

Re: How is your MyLeague/MyGM Going?

Bulls MyLeague, I'm sitting at 12-12. Rose is out with a torn MCL. In addition to that I had Dunleavy, E. Moore, Aaron Brooks, McDermott, and Butler out. I realized I was using some wonky MyLeague settings that had injuries at 65. I must have copied a bad set off the forum. So I reversed the injuries on Brooks and Dunleavy, felt grimy doing so, but I was not playing with 8 guys, which leads me to my next point, can you put guys on I.R or do you have to release them?

Currently on the outside looking in as far as the playoffs are concerned, so ill need Rose back (6-8 week timetable) ASAP and try to tread water until that happens. Thinking of signing Jordan Crawford as an explosive scorer as I go through long lulls struggling to score the basketball. When I needed a bucket, I could get to the hoop with Rose or at least drive and kick. Im still searching for a new identity on offense.

Has anyone else noticed an issue with certain generated players shooting their releases way too early?

I user play my games depending on my work schedule. If it falls on a day off I would normally have from work, I play the game, all other games I simulate. Basically, alternating weekends and every other Wednesday and Friday. 2 games a week.

For example, this week: I was off Wednesday 12/24, and I am off the weekend 27th and 28th. Since I'm off, I play any games that fall on any of those days. After the 28th I wont be off until Friday January 2nd and repeat until Wednesday again.

It works out well. Currently 17-17 in early January, playing Boston.

Traded Vucevic for Sanders? I get your not making a realistic mode, by these moves but Vucevic is a way better player thats just a bad trade for ORL.

is there a way i can play this without sorting out players contracts and stuff because i like to do a 30 team association and just play without worrying to much about contracts like is there an option to leave to an assistant to sort out contracts and player training like in 2k14

Re: How is your MyLeague/MyGM Going?

I just started a pretty cool new MyLeague today. I put a ton of thought and effort into the very opening stages, so I really want to share what I've done.

First, the basics: I'm using the Charlotte Hornets, but I decided to do a serpentine fantasy draft. To determine the draft order I found an NBA random team generator online and randomized it a good 15 times to get a solid order.

Since the NBA can be curiously favorable to certain franchises, I did reroll a few times when the Celtics, Bulls, Lakers, or Cavaliers got a top 3 pick. I just couldn't do it.. If you want to know where specific players went just ask. I'm pretty detailed as you guys are about to find out, so I'll let you know what your favorite players are working with as well.

Anyway, moving on. I also realigned the conferences in a more unusual fashion. Take a look in the spoiler below if you want to see the realignment:

                  Spoiler

Once I was satisfied with the divisions, it was time to get into the draft. I didn't really want any specific players, but I did know I wanted to build a real unit instead of compiling high overall players. With that in mind I put together this team:

                  Spoiler

My favorite part is that literally every single player has a role and in the case of injury we have a guy that can step up and do a decent job filling in. Rose and Harden are obviously the focal point of the offense and will be getting the majority of the touches, but with them being so good at slashing and getting into the paint I decided that Sullinger would be perfect for the roster. Sullinger is a solid outside shooter and with the playbook I'm running he spends a lot of time out on the perimeter playing the stretch 4 role. As a result, he gets plenty of open looks and my paint dominant players can go to work as well. Of course that same mentality is in place for MKG. His mid range game is getting better, but he's quite effective down low so Sullinger keeping the opponent honest is nice.

Nerlens Noel, despite being rated lower than Len, is my starting center because I needed a big that could defend the paint effectively since that isn't Sullinger's strong suit. Noel does a good job down low and they make a nasty rebounding tandem, so he's a great fit as well.

The beauty of the starters is that they're damn good offensively, but what's going to win us ball games is defense and rebounding. MKG, Sullinger, and Noel are absolute monsters on the boards and opposing teams getting an offensive rebound on us is quite rare. Defensively, Rose is above average at the PG position and Harden thankfully can't quit on defense in a video game so he's also very solid on the perimeter. MKG has a solid track record defensively as well and he's very important on that end of the floor. Sullinger comes up short, but I already detailed why Noel is in the first unit. We needed at least one guy that could hold it down in the paint, and Noel is our guy.

Looking at the bench, I knew I was going to need a decent amount of fire power to soften the blow of having Harden and Rose check out. That's where guys like Eric Gordon come into play. Gordon is one hell of an offensive player and he's not too shabby defensively either, so against other teams second unit I expect him to be a terror out there if he's hot. George Hill is a big part of the bench mob because he's an offensive minded PG that can effectively run an offense and that's just what we need in the case of a D Rose injury. Hill is more of a safety pick up for us just in case Rose goes down, but he makes for a fine second option in the second unit.

Kevin Garnett was our final selection of the draft, but for the one season he'll most likely play for us, he should have a solid impact. He's coming off the bench with reduced minutes due to his age, but the guy can still roll off picks and rebound with the best of them. His defense has slacked a bit, but he's definitely serviceable against teams backup PFs and Cs.

I'll speed things up here for anyone still reading. Alonzo Gee is a good 3 and D guy, really appreciate his perimeter defense. Alex Len is a great pick and pop guy with plenty of potential, this team is built for the future so he'll have his shot to develop alongside Nerlens. Payne and McGary and purely developmental pieces. Payne doesn't do anything really well, but he's okay at everything. McGary on the other hand is a great low post defender for his age so he'll get some run if a big gets injured.

Now finally, the results of the first game for the Charlotte Hornets. In a really defensive contest, we managed to pick up a 84-73 win over the Raptors to start out on the right foot. D-Rose was a killer all night scoring 24 on 9-18 from the field, he added 7 assists, 11 rebounds, and a block to his totals, but coughed the ball up 6 times. The turnovers have to go down if we want to go anywhere. Harden was solid putting up 16 points on 7-13, as well as Gordon scoring 12 in only 16 minutes. Sullinger had a good game scoring 10 and pulling down 14 boards. Noel looked a little lost in his debut scoring only 2 points on 2 shots, collecting 5 fouls, and allowing 16 points and 14 rebounds to Dwight Howard, but he grabbed 8 boards so that's something. The stat of the night for me was 29/80 (36%). That's what the Raptors shot from the floor. We absolutely DOMINATED them on the defensive side of the ball and it led to some easy offense for Derrick Rose and the boys. On top of that, the Raptors missed 14 free throws and went 10/24 from the charity stripe. That basically handed us the win.

I'm really excited about this team if you couldn't already tell. I think all the pieces are in place for us to make a run at the playoffs with some real team basketball. If I had more free time I would totally do a proper report on this in the Dynasty HQ forum, but oh well. I really wonder if anybody got through all of this..

TL;DR: Fantasy draft with the Hornets. Got D Rose and Harden. Getting ready to take the league by storm.

what do you guys think of this potential trade in MyGM (fantasy drafted)?

                      Marc Gasol

                      for

                      My roster looks like:
                      D Rose/Reggie Jackson
                      Jamal Crawford/Avery Bradley/Wayne Ellington
                      Hayward/Shawn Marion/Matt Barnes/James Jones
                      Kenneth Faried/Matt Bonner/Brendan Haywood

Well considering it's a fantasy draft, not really. The Suns have Kevin Love, Gordon Hayward, and Deandre Jordan. At the same time the Spurs are a decent team led by Blake Griffin, and the Thunder have Tony Parker, and Lance Stepehenson. The Mavericks are okay. Their best player is without a doubt Paul George, but their #2 option is Amare Stoudemire, meh. The Rockets on the other hand have LeBron and Isaiah Thomas so they're serious challengers. The division is most likely going to come down to the Suns or the Rockets, but I'd expect both to make the playoffs.

Forgot it was a fantasy draft. I was viewing it as the NBA today and I thought, "Whelp, that's the end of this team."

I went back and looked at all the guys the 76ers could've drafted had we kept all our picks (Even 2nd Rders) since the Evan Turner over Demarcus Cousins debacle and this is what I came up with:

PG Dante Exum, Spencer Dinwiddie, Lorenzo Brown
SG Lance Stephenson, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Ricky Ledo
SF Jimmy Butler, Glenn Robinson III, Roy Devyn-Marble
PF Terence Jones, Adreian Payne, Isaiah Austin
C Demarcus Cousins, Gorgui Dieng, Jeff Withey

I know Hindsight is 20/20 but it's sad to see how much talent my team has passed on in just 5 years. This team can score, plays great defense and rebounds like their life depended on it.

Our current record is 22-10, 2nd to the Raptors in the division. I've played a little more than 10 of the games and I love this team!

Year 2 with the Bucks, simmed first year and play every game from here on out.

                                Rotation:

                                PG Knight
                                SG Matthews (free agency)
                                SF Parker
                                PF Faried (trade)
                                C Sanders
                                6th Giannis
                                7th Ed Davis
                                8th Brian Roberts
                                9th Glenn Robinson III

                                21-15 through 36 games.

Parker is pouring in 25 ppg and most games have been tight. Best 2K experience to date.
