Re: The Next Step in Immersion For Me

P.S. (sorry, couldn't find an edit option), it would help also if your player didn't act like an arrogant douche-bag in the cut-scenes. How about being able to take the role of a hard working, modest silent type instead of an outspoken know all? Anyway, that's minor. I can skip through those.

THE major oversight in NBA2K15 for my 2c is the one I outlined in my post above. Your OP had plenty of good ideas, but camera men, improved interviews, etc. are kind of second-fiddle for me when the basics are so off.

Re: The Next Step in Immersion For Me

A cool feature I'd like to see implemented is the record books in its totality. During this season, we've seen during games where LeBron would pass someone on the all time scoring list. I would love to see that in game in all modes, especially MyLeague. It would give someone like myself more incentive to play further into the mode to witness an Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker enter the top 15 all time on the scoring list and the announcers recognize and show stat overlays of the like. Maybe even a cutscene to show the audience cheering and players clapping while the PA guy announces it and the star player showing his appreciation for the recognition like when Kobe passed MJ. Madden has implemented NFL records very nicely in its franchise mode.

Im 100% with you on the pitching idea in free agency, esp since its not all about money anymore when it comes to signing players.Great post!

99% on the my career stuff. My only problem is with the "pick where you wanna be drafted part" I liked 2k11 because you could drop to the 2nd round if you did bad. Madden does the choose your path thing and its horrid. No immersion in choosing your team or draft spot. But lots of fun in earning that number one spot. Or even dropping to the 2nd or even undrafted!

This is amazing. The only thing I disagree with is Selecting a Path for MyCareer. You hit everything else on the head. Hopefully they make some changes

One overall "minor" thing that would also be great see is having the commentators visible in certain angles from the broadcast view.

HOWEVER ... all of that is just bells, whistles and "nice to haves" when a 6'10, 260lbs player still has the physique of a 12 year old girl and arms like David Spade's.

It's kind of hard to be "immersed" in the realism of the game (with your created players/MyPlayer anyway), when the player's physique is so wrong that it's actually quite funny.

I just don't understand why we can tweak the exact shape of a player's head, and select from a plethora of almost-identical shooting animations, but we can NOT have much of a say in what the player even LOOKS like (in game, you usually looking at them from a distance, i.e. their entire body, not just their head).

What's even more baffling is that the game obviously supports these body types. The pre-made players have very realistic physiques. Karl Malone is a beast and Shaq is huge. Why not let the user select their body shape from the huge amount of pre-made body shapes just like we can select their animations???

I definitely agree. At the time when I created this, 2k15 had not been released yet and bodies in 2k14 were still decent for the most part. I have no idea what happened, but in 2k15, everyone has these skinny arms. Not to mention different size bodies or weight classes(Glen Davis is not the same body type as a Roy Hibbert even though they weigh nearly the same).

I forgot to mention that, but that was one of the things I initially thought of before I began the post. That always bothered me that records aren't ever really covered. Randomly if you score 40 in three qtrs. or something they may show that mundane graphic of Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe's scoring games even though you are nowhere close. Even then, if you do score over a 100, there is no graphic or anything saying you broke a record. It'd be nice to have it pop up on the ticker I mentioned or even a small little graphic in the corner like the upcoming game preview used to do a few years ago(they'd come out the corner dribbling and stuff).

I thought about that when thinking of it, but basically, it isn't to lock you into anything as far as draft position. All it does is differentiate every one from having the exact same path or story like it does now. Just off the top of my head, a guy like Jahlil Okafor is entering the league with a lot more expectations than his teammate Tyus Jones. Now, that doesn't mean they are locked into a draft position. Everything they do moving forward will determine that and that's all I was getting at. The tier system is just to choose the expectations and ratings you want right from the jump. You want to grind and "earn it" choose undrafted and do everything you can leading up to the draft to make sure you climb draft boards. If you want the "easy" path, choose consensus and you are expected to dominate right away, if you don't, things could snowball quickly for you(consensus doesn't auto get picked first you still have to go through the pre draft stuff and you can fall, also you aren't overpowered, just better than the rest of your class).

Another issue I have.. Which I'm not sure other people have noticed... Is that after a player wins finals MVP in my league, it doesn't appear on their career achievement page. I don't even think it factors into their hall of fame probability... But yet the all star team does o.o

It doesn't but you can view the all the winners of the award. But it should be factored into the HOF and in your players card.
