    Slower Game Speed? GOOD?

Im still trying to find out why in the world is slower game speed praised as being realistic, I understand that it makes the game look more fluid and all that other stuff. WHATEVER great! I dont think so but hey....

I would like for the game to be at a REALISTIC speed and even if the game doesnt look smooth I refuse to play this game at a slow speed just to cover up flaws that give an illusion that its better to play in super slow motion LOL CMON MAN! It feels even less realistic. All you guys who play the game at a slow speed stop saying your running fastbreaks, you cant even call it that anymore LOL.

Covering up flaws can only get so far they need to iron this stuff out so nobody would have to lower their standards to playing the game in slow motion!? Year in and year out I see ppl happy to set that game speed to 40 or even 35 when are we going to see that the game is not suppose to be played this slow if its aim is to make a simulation basketball game.

I've watched the gamescom video #1 and it does seem like they've slowed down the speed but guys are still saying its a good thing!? There's no such thing as a super slow pull-up like the one I seen in the gameplay video and the players are too floaty on the jumpshots and kind of floaty period from my point of view.

If this is realistic to you guys and your willing to settle for having to slow the game down in speed at an unrealistic speed just to cover flaws smh. Im upset but I still try to keep a sense of humor b/c this is crazy.

Game speed overall was too fast in 2K14. My take is default running speed and and walking speed was too fast. This video looks much better.

If there were a slider where you could break down passing speed vs. running speed vs. shot speed. I can see but I really like the way they have the game.

The passing speed is better looks better animates better there some fast passes.

Maybe some of the pull up jumpers need to be sped up but watch that Wade rebound and putback it was fast and realistic. I say you request the 2K team to increase the shooting speed on certain shots.

They need to keep the speed of NBA2k14 and get rid of the bs heavy used of animations as part of the gameplay resulting in less user control. Basically, give users total control of the players on the court so someone like me can play the game using my own talents instead of relying on luck or random computer generated animations gameplay.

YES! AMEN! Thats Exactly what they need is a passing speed slider, a running speed slider and a shot speed slider since they wont do it and when they do its either to fast or to slow and not a balance of those three categories.

Thats what kind of fake me out b/c the second video doesnt look as slow due to the particular animations and speed of the animations.

Yeh those sliders would solve this problem PERIOD b/c just giving a game speed slider is not going to work in trying to balance everything.

Then again it might be PARTICULAR INDIVIDUAL animations that are just slow or fast so........I dont even know dude b/c they are so deep in with these animations and they still even have ani's dating back probably over 8 Plus years. So this probably wouldn even work unless they redo the speed of certain animations b/c just speeding up passing for instance might make certain ani's too fast.......I dont know man(sigh) smh

Yes, A slower game speed is good! Anything but the fastbreak after fastbreak cheese fest that 2k14 next-gen was, specially online... Basketball is about playing the right rhythm depending on the context and circumstances...

Perhaps a slower game speed could help us to simulate that in our consoles.

            Cheers! ;-)

the issue isnt game speed itself...

the issue is that speed ratings have no factor into the game. A 25 quickness/speed center will move every bit as fast as a 99 quickness/speed wing regardless of if gamespeed is anywhere from 0-100.

What on earth are you talking about? You can feel the difference between a 60 speed guy and a 80 speed guy immediately

sliders arent the answer because they are only available offline. The speed of NG2k14 is entirely to fast and the current videos of 15 has it right. Look at a real nba game, they dont move half as fast as college games 90% of the time

Player movements where just unrealistically fast. Look at the D collapse in the paint and look at how messy it looks like in 2K14 because every player is moving at an unrealistic speed and they would go from standing still to full speed in one third of a second in any direction. Now it looks like they're heavyier and that makes everything look a lot more natural.

2K had gamespeed wrong for years.

                          Re: Slower Game Speed? GOOD?

I think the player speed on 2K is FAAAAAR too slow. For example, Devin Harris in real life could dribble a basketball from baseline to baseline in like 3.8 second or something. You're lucky to make it to half court in that amount of time on the game, I hate it, absolutely hate..

If they fix it then maybe make players slower in traffic, or defenders move faster to negate the offensive advantage.. But to make the players move slower would be a negative addition, they already move like kids in Jr. High.. I have to turn the game speed up to 60 or so before I can even stand to play.

There is a big difference between the speed at wich a player can run in the game and the speed at wich every of his movements is displayed on the screen. The overall speed of the game was too fast and player movements where displayed at an unrealistic speed aswell. Now maybe the players overall lack explosion and don't run fast enough but that's another issue.

That might not be very clear though.

The slow game speed in the footage is perfect. Slower game speed allows for better animation quality, and gives us that chess match that the game of basketball really is. 2k14 NG felt like the players were on crack.

Of course I would see like to see players like John Wall and Ty Lawson get up and down the floor in a strike of lightning, but the slower pace makes it a more enjoyable experience for me from a SIM standpoint.

Keep the slow pace, as long as there is a distinct differentiation between fast players and slow players.
