If you think about it, it's kind of like how it was back in 2K10, you do scrimmages with teams to earn a contract.

I really wish the draft combine was back though....

And that statement implied that FIFA was sim enough for part of it's fanbase, while 2K was not. Or did I miss something? Maybe you could clarify your point if I'm wrong.

You can't pay for just the modes you want. It's all or nothing, kid. Purchasing the product will be an endorsement of this mode.

If you're REALLY so upset about this? Make a statement. Vote with your wallet.

        Don't.

        Buy.

        The game.
There's no such thing as loving the product, having serious issues with it on one mode, and wanting it to improve in all aspects?

Nuance is a thing you know. I'm not sure how "don't buy it" really contributes to the discussion.

The draft in MyCareer was literally 15 minutes long, and you always went to the same handful of teams. It was in no way fun, or something I would look forward to.
We try to win championships every year in association and MyCareer. Doesn't mean it should be taken out either for 2K16: Tank Commander, featuring Bryan Colangelo.

The option to go undrafted is great. At no point should the option to also play what 95% of viable NBA players go through be taken out for the former. Because then it's no longer just an option.

Let's take all star games out too. Because its the same every year. Heck let's take 3 pointers and dunks and passes out. Because it's just that over and over. Actually let's just take basketball out entirely, because it's the same every year. Instead, let's turn MyCareer into MyEntourage, and skip the actual games entirely. Heh.

This is the NBA. And with that comes the NBA Draft. There's no justifying its complete removal just because a few have gotten bored with it. It's pretty amazing to me that anyone who's a serious NBA fan would be okay with removing such an integral part of the league in its most popular mode that's supposed to help you live out the full NBA fantasy.

I want those things too. I think they're amazing additions that will hopefully improve in execution. But there's no reason the underlying realism based freedom should be removed for those additions. I think the peripheral story should also play out in ways that do nothing to alter the structure of the actual NBA career simulated, or be triggered contextually rather than-- erp! Game 20! Go out and drop 25 rookie! Herp! Game 24! Imma bench you just because cutcene!

When they take over your coach and personnel-- sometimes literally replacing him with another-- and eliminate the ability to be drafted is when the additions are no longer immersive but intrusive.

Was it that way? I thought the draft was in 2K10 and that's where the draft combine started. I remember downloading the draft combine days or weeks before 2K10 actually came out. I was so hype, I bought the $100 one with the Kobe locker and whatever else came with it.

I wish 2K would do to that again with releasing a MP combine before the game actually drops for $5. I've played that to death and it was the first time a MyPlayer Mode was made. I could've sworn you got drafted.

I never said or implied anything about FIFA being more or less sim or more or less anything for that matter.

You're absolutely right they released the Draft Combine as a lead up to the game. You played 6 games, got some boosts for your player and then he got drafted. I think that people who skipped the DC had to do scrimmages. I thought that was a fantastic idea and a legitimate DLC. 2K should continue to do this.

...What's ironic is that the DC played better than 2K10 did. The feel of that mini game was so much better than the full release.

I agree. The DC played very good, but I also enjoyed 2K10 a lot even though a lot of people didn't.

But, that was the best DLC purchase I've ever made. They should definitely do that every year. I played the heck out of that.

The simple thing to do would have been to create your player and be able to have a preset rating before going to a draft combine and perform a number of drills to raise your rating and improve your chances of getting drafted.

Now, a cool idea would have been to hold the draft, but also have the option to play in the euro league (which they have added more teams) for a year or two, or go to tryouts with teams during the season and get signed. The draft is integral to mycareer because it adds to the realism of the mode.

I'm fine with the change but having the draft was also nice. In a perfect world and this may be easier said than done but having a choice for either would be best IMO.

Only thing about the draft though is I didn't really care for how all the rookies went to their teams....I always wished Myplayer draft was handled somewhat like Fantasy Draft. You do what you needed to get drafted and so did the other rookies, if they went to different teams that drafted them on the real NBA draft then so be it.

It's sad almost, with the super authentic MyCareer in 2k11, I remember thinking how awesome this mode would be in future years with new technology- a truly authentic simulation of being an NBA player.
