Re: NBA 2K15 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

Playing against the Nuggets as the new 7'1" Center for the Magic, I was having an amazing game against the Nuggets until the final sequence of the game. We're up by one with about thirteen seconds left and we've got the ball, and for whatever reason, we decide to isolate Channing Frye who has been terrible the entire game. He drives into the lane and pulls up only to get blocked by JJ Hickson who rotated over to him, but Frye gets the offensive rebound and has a decent looking layup, but Hickson bumps him now which forces him to miss again.

Fortunately, I'm the ONLY one standing underneath the glass, so I go up for the offensive rebound thinking the game is over because I had already grabbed 20+ rebounds this game. Instead of grabbing the ball like he had all game long, my center sort of puts one hand underneath it and taps it out to Ty Lawson who takes off down the court. And as I'm sure you could've guessed, he throws up a half court shot and swishes it...

The moment he let it go I knew it was good, but I'm still pissed that he made it. And this isn't the first time this happened to me. Yesterday I was playing with the Pelicans and Tobais Harris drained a half court game winner, but I shrugged it off as luck. If this happens again I'm going to start collecting screenshots of this...

I'm trying not to be sour because it was great game until that closing sequence. Stuff like that can happen in the NBA, in fact I remember Tyreke Evans and Rasheed Wallace hit shots from beyond half court to win games in real life. It can happen, but it stills feels like I was robbed when I'm playing 2k.

Meh, I feel better now after getting all that out. Having a blast on SS/sim thanks to a kind suggestion, much appreciation to StrictlyForBuckets for that. Anyway, thanks for listening if anyone read this.

Yeah I know that's what's holding me back a bit, but I wanted to go to a team where I wont be down 10-20 points when I get subbed out and have to cheese to get back in to the game.

Signed a 3 year deal with Cavs, i wanted a 1 year, but all I had were 3 and 4 year deals for all teams. 300vc signing bonus and 650vc / game.

Just won my first championship with Raptors, and I am kinda pissed. They cut out the award ceremony, it's just a montage now of celebrations.

And then to top it off? I get a cutscene afterwards with Kevin Durant saying better luck next year. We just beat them! 4-1! My only options are telling him congrats for advancing or telling him to stuff it, what in the hell.

Seriously deflated my hype a bit. At least I got a CORRECT cutscene afterwards celebrating with Ross.

This is the problem I have with the direction they are taking this mode. Its so scripted that even the on court play is scripted to a degree. It drastically lowered your guys shooting ratings in order to play that cutscene.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

Anyone know how to improve your shot fatigue? Or if we even can upgrade or improve it?

Cool tidbit they threw in, after you sign with a team following first year, check your social media history. If you go back far enough you can see reporters talking about your signing, and they give the actual contract in dollars rather than VC. (I got a 3 year/50.40m with OKC for example)

This was a huge problem last year, but I never experienced it this time around. I didn't sim any game my first season and never encountered a scripted on-court event that affected the gameplay.

In fact I can only think of a handful of cutscenes I got that related to specifics on how I played, and all of them were of my own doing.

So far, my second season definitely feels less scripted and more in my control than the first. My Pacers are 3-0, blowing out the Celtics and Magics, and had a really close game against the Rockets(double overtime). My question is for those of you in your second years, does this continue or should i not get my hopes up yet?

I just played my first game, and It felt very good for me aswell. My team actually played a little defense.

Now I just need to build that Team chemistry and it'll get even better. Atleast that's how it was in my rookie season. Couldn't win anything. And then we went on 10game winning streaks.

Having fun with my penny/magic clone on the raptors and we are doing ok but man defense is tough. Didnt upgrade a lot yet though, is anyone playing as a 6'7 pg? Want to join lakers next

LeBron is 6'9 and shut down Rose in the ECF, so it's possible.

Length and athleticism = great defense. Well, plus basketball IQ. So a 6'7 guy who's quick and has long arms should theoretically be a very good defender as long as he's not a complete potato.

Played my first game of season 2 on my new team last night (Philly).

It was a night and day difference from Detroit. Players were actually SHOOTING the ball when they were open! We went on runs to counter the other teams runs! Ball movement was actually surprisingly good!

We beat the Bulls (who won the 2014-2015 title 4-2 vs. the Spurs) in their building 89-84 on 10 minute quarters. I had been getting such low scoring games with Detroit. I'd be lucky to hit 75 points.

So I was really encouraged by that. Hopefully it's not an anomaly.

I just started one as a 6'5 SG, chose the Suns for my 1st 10-day contract. We are 0-4 and I am not playing real great so far haha. Once again it looks like your team is inferior in this mode no matter what or have I just had bad luck so far? I did enough to get another 10-day so hopefully I can improve and we can win a game at some point.

Also any tips from anyone to improve the overall MyPlayer experience? The only thing I did was change playcalling to Auto so we actually run plays instead of just street ballin' every possession. I left the difficulty on Pro and still have my quarters at 6 minutes.

If you ever want to see semi-realistic game scores and statistics, you will need to up the quarter length to at least 10 minutes. Or else you will see goran dragic averaging 10 points a game. And your average game score will be like 55-50. That's my recommendation. I like to have a modicum of realism, I can't suspend my disbelief enough to buy that I'm actually playing in the NBA only my team scores half the points of every other team.

Turning on the auto playcall was a smart move, as well. If you just freelance, you're going to end up playing hero ball and shooting 30+ times every game a lot. Some people like that, but it bores me. I like getting my numbers within the flow of the game, and seeing my teammates actually score and get fair amounts of touches and possessions to themselves.
