Playing against the Nuggets as the new 7'1" Center for the Magic, I was having an amazing game against the Nuggets until the final sequence of the game. We're up by one with about thirteen seconds left and we've got the ball, and for whatever reason, we decide to isolate Channing Frye who has been terrible the entire game. He drives into the lane and pulls up only to get blocked by JJ Hickson who rotated over to him, but Frye gets the offensive rebound and has a decent looking layup, but Hickson bumps him now which forces him to miss again.
Fortunately, I'm the ONLY one standing underneath the glass, so I go up for the offensive rebound thinking the game is over because I had already grabbed 20+ rebounds this game. Instead of grabbing the ball like he had all game long, my center sort of puts one hand underneath it and taps it out to Ty Lawson who takes off down the court. And as I'm sure you could've guessed, he throws up a half court shot and swishes it...
The moment he let it go I knew it was good, but I'm still pissed that he made it. And this isn't the first time this happened to me. Yesterday I was playing with the Pelicans and Tobais Harris drained a half court game winner, but I shrugged it off as luck. If this happens again I'm going to start collecting screenshots of this...
I'm trying not to be sour because it was great game until that closing sequence. Stuff like that can happen in the NBA, in fact I remember Tyreke Evans and Rasheed Wallace hit shots from beyond half court to win games in real life. It can happen, but it stills feels like I was robbed when I'm playing 2k.
Meh, I feel better now after getting all that out. Having a blast on SS/sim thanks to a kind suggestion, much appreciation to StrictlyForBuckets for that. Anyway, thanks for listening if anyone read this.
