I'm not a PG but a point forward.
I only averaged 4.4 assists per 36 minutes my rookie year, but I'm averaging almost 8 in my 2nd year. I'm still getting the turnovers though.
The assists are going to depend on your teammates, their willingness to shoot, and what spots you get them the ball in. Your team chemistry being high REALLY helps. Plus you'll just get the hang of it as you go.
The turnovers though....... I don't know if those are ever going to drop to a normal level. The CPU AI just plays the passing lanes too well, they always know where the ball is going and have insanely fast, perfect reactions. Also you're going to get hit with so many stupid ones. If you are asked to set screens in the offense, you're probably going to get hit with an illegal screen at least once every other game (my bigs combine for about 5 a a game on the Sixers), that's a turnover. A charge is a turnover, and if you like to attack the rim you're bound to get some charges, i've gotten a handful so far. Sometimes I'll be running through the paint and get stuck on a defender and can't get off him because of the stupid rubbing animations. 3 in the key, another turnover. It's incredibly frustrating. I haven't even gotten into the terrible passing logic, where you'll have an open guy and need your guy to throw, say, an overhead pass, but he'll throw a chest pass directly into your defender. Or that awesome animation where you throw it to a cutting player and you ALWAYS throw it like 2 steps behind him so he has to reach back to try to corral it, and then the CPU just takes it away and you get hit with a turnover. Or the passing out of double teams glitch where even players with great passing attributes will sail it into the crowd more often than not.
Basically now that I'm playing damn near 40 minutes a night, if I make it through the game with less than 4 turnovers I'm pretty ecstatic lol.
