Hi im new to the NBA2K game, i want to start my career and i want to know, which position might be the best for a beginner like me? im planning to play on HoF because that the way how you earn vc, ive watched some videos and you wont earn that much on lower difficult. so i guess the PG, the playmaker, wont be a good choice right? should i go for PF or SF ? and which style should i use? athletic? defense, kump shoot?



hope you can help me

SF is good hut for me center is the easiest cause u can get rebounds blocks and points fairly easily without upgrades if u play well and if u have a good team (raptors are a godd choice) then assists too. AtleAst that my opinion

Lol this game sometimes man...... So apparently 20 reb and 5 blocks alig with 7 ast is a poor performance in 2Ks eyes since I only scored once

So I've got to be honest.

My Career is absolute garbage. From teammates sucking massive cow penis during your first year to coaches who willingly and constantly go into the fourth quarter with 1 or even zero time outs to constant terrible decisions by my teammates (open 3? Nah drive to the basket into traffic), its like I'm pulling teeth. And the only way to get anywhere is to dump VC into multiple categories which means you can't make a specialized player. Want to make a center who's a decent free throw shooter? Well he's also Ray Allen!

I mean your teammates are so so stupid. I just got into basketball and I know more than everyone on the court! And the animation cheese in the paint is mind boggling. Pass the ball I've got a mismatch! No? Ok fine. Wait why is it despite me pushing in a different direction I'm still waivin for a pass? TURNOVER. But I ju- TURNOVER.

First Walker goes does down for 4-6 weeks with a broken wrist, then Brian Roberts goes down for 8-10 weeks with a broken ankle. On top of that Noah Vonleh has been slowed all month with a twisted ankle. It's a good thing I'm coming up on the weakest part of my schedule with 11/14 games against sub .500 teams.

My teammates miss so many open jumpers while the CPU knocks down every open jumper they get regardless of their rating. Cmon 2K...

My fellow small forwards, is there a pain worse in this world than playing the blazers when Nicolas Batum just does what he does on this game and makes EVERY SINGLE JUMPER? Seriously somebody at 2K has a big crush on dude.

Just played a game against the Timberwolves...Ricky Rubio went 5/6 from three. Several of those makes were contested, pull-up shot clock buzzer beaters. Meanwhile, Eric Gordon went 1/6 from three (and, as usual, two or three of his misses got swatted even though he was initially wide-open) and Jrue Holiday went 0/3. I've built up a pretty good center who draws plenty of double teams, so I can get Gordon, Holiday and, on the rare occasions we're in the game together, Ryan Anderson really good wide-open looks.


On another note, who else is playing as a center and has experienced the "wanna bang my head against a brick wall" frustration of your center short arming it and/or throwing a shot off the side of the backboard when he turns baseline for a hook shot? I recently had a monster game where I went for 53 points on 23/29 shooting (7/10 from the FT line) and I think all but maybe one or two of my misses came when my center turned baseline and didn't even get the shot to the rim despite not getting it blocked.


And I know this probably isn't easy or even doable, but I wish 2K could find a way to take current, developing storylines in your MyCareer and incorporate them into post game pressers, meetings with your agents, Tweets, etc. When I joined the Pelicans 30 games ago they were 19-25 and in 10th place in the Western Conference. And in those 30 games (since I joined the team) we've gone 24-6 and have climbed to 5th place in the West. It'd be nice to see that has some sort of story developed in relation to that. It took me a few games to acclimate to MyPlayer after spending the first several months I had the game strictly playing MyLeague, but I'm still averaging 24 pts, 13 reb, 4 ast, 3 blk on 58% shooting.

I consider the game 'throttled' to an extent. Take rebounds for instance. If I get 20 in the first half I KNOW that at some point the ball will start to bounce away from me or I will lose ever contested rebound. No matter what I do it is next to IMPOSSIBLE to get over 34 rebounds. I will have 5 straight 30+ rebound games....none...over 34. The game adjusts to the point I got over 34 twice. I got 37 in a playoff game and the other time I got 47 because I REFUSED to shoot the ball even though the computer begged me.

With my PG it's the same way. I can get 6 assists in 8 mins. Then every open 3, every pick and roll where the guy has a dunk...does not matter...they will miss....IF I AM THE ONE FEEDING THE BALL. I just stop trying to make assists because I know the code has dictated I won't get any more for a quarter.

Said it before...85% of the game is money-f-ing good. It's the 15% scripted stuff that just makes me so mad I could spit nails.

really, it stops at 34 for you, i wish that was the same for me, i made my guy to be like wilt and i only want 25rpg but i have to avoid every rebound to do so, i could easily average like 40, it gets annoying cause it gives them offensive rebounds when i try to keep it wilt style realistic

Maybe if you guys played the game like an actual game of basketball and stopped trying to cheese 100 pts and 100 rpg you might enjoy it.

You complain about Caps and limitations or misses in your gazzillion point games when really it's you who's in the wrong.

It comes with the game. We all go through the same BS that it something you get used to after a while. I went through the same thing with my SG on the Pistons. If your not on a contender then your team sucks. Especially when you play on HOF which makes your teammates even more terrible. I still go through this on the Clippers in my second season.

Can I still make the All Star Team even through I'm #4 in voting? I'm averaging 34.5 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 3.9 APG, 2.0 BPG on the Clippers, but I'm only #4. I also have like 1.88 million fans but still on 660k votes.

Anyways 12-8 with the Clippers. We started the season going 0-6 but changed it around and went from Last in the league to 6th. I'm pretty sure by All-star weekend we could be top 3 but only if CP3 and Blake score 20 PPG.

I try not to score 34.5 PPG but the team can't hit anything unless I give them that boost in scoring.

Finally got the patch, first game and we dominate the Blazers all game, I end up with 34 points, 9 rebounds, 17 assists (the easiest 17 ever). I love how teammates actually shoot and make open shots! I got dimer after the game too!

I feel like I can finally move up from all star difficulty again now.

Side note:

The thing with you getting a million fans in a few days and needing to ask pharrel...I left that alone because I thought that would happen automatically but that was ages ago and I never heard anything about it. I didn't actively do anything. Was I supposed to tweet or something (I don't even know how to) and have I messed up my save now because I only ever met with him that first time and have never seen him again

One game Shabazz Napier went 0-10 from three and all of the shots were WIDE OPEN. Dude even has a 80+ 3pt rating, but he just kept missing. Easily the most frustrating game ever.
