Re: NBA 2K15 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

I've decided I'm gonna go full mercenary and try and set at least one franchise record at every club in the NBA. It's gonna take a while to play for each team and its gonna destroy my stats but 75+ win seasons are a given at the moment because my squad is so stacked. So I'm gonna leave at the end of this season and begin on it. So far I have

    Cleveland: Points (58) FGM (21) FTM (25) Rebounds (29)
    Houston: Rebounds (35)

In terms of records I think I could easily break I'm just looking through each team and there are a few which will be damn near impossible for me because I'm gonna continue playing my way of being an all round scorer, rebounder and passer. I'm not gonna sacrifice my style to get records. Records I think I can get easily:
76ers: None (maybe assists, Wilt holds it with 21)
    Bucks: Rebounds (Henson, 25)
    Bulls: None
Celtics: Field Goals Made (Bird, 22)
    Clippers: Rebounds (Nater, 32)
Grizzlies: Points (Miller, 45) Rebounds (Wright, 26)
    Hawks: None
Heat: Field Goals Made (James, 22)
Hornets: Points (LaVine, 46) Rebounds (Okafor, 25) FGM (Jefferson, 18)
    Jazz: Rebounds (Eaton, 25)
    Kings: None
    Knicks: Rebounds (Chandler, 28)
    Lakers: None
    Magic: Rebounds (Vucevic, 29)
    Mavericks: FGM (Nowitzki, 22) Rebounds (?, 28)
Nets: FGM (Carter, 18) Rebounds (Williams, 27)
    Nuggets: None
Pacers: FGM (Smits, 20) Rebounds (Williams, 29)
Pelicans: FGM (Paul, 18) Rebounds (Chandler, 23)
    Pistons: FGM (Stackhouse, 21)
Raptors: FGM (Villanueva, 20) Rebounds (Biyombo, 27)
    Spurs: None
    Suns: Rebounds (Barkley?, 26)
    Thunder: Rebounds (Wilcox, 24)
    Wolves: Rebounds (Garnett, 25)
    Trail Blazers: Rebounds (Przybilla, 26)
    Warriors: Lmao nah
    Wizards: Rebounds (?, 22)

So most of them are rebounding ones. Im averaging 23 rebounds so far this season with 3 games with 30+ rebounds after 12 games, averaging 7 OR per game so I'm pretty confident of setting records for every team in rebounding other than the Wilt and Russell teams really.

Kevin Durant is continuing his assault on the league in 2017-2018. No Westbrook all season (don't know if he has an injury bug injury and will never return, or what) and he's led OKC to the best record in the West at 35-8. He's averaging: 35.8 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 5.3 APG, 2.7 SPG, 1.3 BPG, .502 FG%, .418 3P%, and .893 FT%

On another note, James Harden is doing 2K15 James Harden things:

      31.3 PPG, 10.1 APG, 7.4 RPG, 2.2 SPG, .471 FG%, .408 3P%, .882 FT%

Klay Thompson is averaging 28.5 PPG, and Jimmy Butler continues to put up "Way Better Than Real Life Jimmy Butler" stats, averaging 25.2 PPG, 9.0 RPG, 7.4 APG, and 3.2 SPG. That's right, Jimmy Butler is averaging 25-9-7-3.

We didn't necessarily take advantage of Curry's injury, but we did manage to take them out in 7 games. And guess how we won the series?

          A Damian Lillard game winner.
That's right! Just like last year. Except this time, he drove in for the finger roll layup/floater type shot, and sunk it. 0.2 seconds left after he made it, so they couldn't get a shot off.

I held my own against Klay, and LaMarcus was automatic when he got the ball down low. Now, we're up against the MVP, Russell Westbrook, the 1st seeded Thunder. He's nearly averaging a triple double this season, so this will not be easy. They are a fully healthy squad, but so are we, minus Wes (still injured). Let's get it! #RipCity

I played 4 years on HOF difficulty but after Harden and a few other people got hit with the injury bug i decided to go down a diff too see if that would help them play better. It didnt.

But I am enjoying superstar simply because I can make threes now. HOF is easy for me but i never finished a season above 40% from 3. It never felt like I had a maxed out shooting rating. The other difference with superstar is the sucky teams play like they suck but the good teams can still give me a good game. I just wish Harden wasnt a 77 overall most of the game.

2014-2018 Hall of Fame dif. 2018 season Superstar.
I dont know why my freethrow percentage went down though.

I'm sorry, but I got the Thunder is 6 or 7. KD is that good. But maybe you'll have a chance depending on who they have at SG (you play SG right?). You'll be able to roam a little bit.

I am a PG, so it's hard to help on KD and worry about Russ. Never lost a series to them, but I am glad I got out of the West.

Since Soccer and softball were my two sports growing up it felt weird playing a soccer game with only guys. With the announcement that the women teams will be included in FIFA16 I might consider that title next year.

Next year in 2K I will only start a PG in the beginning and keep him going until the final patch is released - keeping the vc generating and save all my points. This year, I started too many characters trying to find a fun position.

Also next year, the Lakers have the 2nd pick, so hopefully I'll be able to go straight to them instead of trying to finesse my way there. Hopefully 2k will not have Doc or another coach migrate teams.

Ya. The only way to avoid the injury bug without starting a new career is to crash any game an injury happens but that really makes the whole thing a chore and not fun. I actually like the realism of injuries (even if 2k never matches the injury-type and duration very good) and as long as people heal correctly without re-aggravating the injury all the time I am happy.

                  Me(6/7: 99)
                  Baylor(2nd yr: 6/7: 84)

                  Davenport(69)

The deepest team I've played for! My team is reaching all-time highs in stls, blocks, and assists. Everyone is locked in as well. I'm hoping we can steal another top pick from a team via trade like you did!
Now we're tearing through the league!

Yeah I'm a SG. I think I'm gonna go up against Dion Waiters, so no big challenge there. But I'm lookin to go off on scoring, and get LaMarcus involved a lot too. I need Lillard to try to contain Russ as much as possible, not sure how Batum will do against KD, he got lit up by Barnes last series.

Just finished game 1 against the Thunder (Superstar, 9 min) and wow what a game. Throughout the first quarter through third quarter, we were up by 10 and I thought we would win because we were playing so consistent. KD was ice cold in the first half, wasn't even a factor. But of course, like a true superstar, he came in when his team needed it most. At the start of the fourth, he was lighting us up, hitting 3's, crazy layups, freethrows, pull ups, you name it. Unguardable. He brought them back into the game, and it was a war the last 5 minutes. They ended up winning 99-94.

Westbrook, the MVP, finished with 32 points, KD finished with 29, with only 11 after the first half, and I held Dion Waiters to 4 points.
I dropped 35 on Waiters, he couldn't really do anything to stop me. Lillard had 15, wasn't really a factor down the stretch, surprisingly. And Aldridge had 13, but was very efficient with his shots. Should have fed him the rock more.
Will update once the series is over.

Just finished the season. The Thunder took us out in 5 games, after taking a commanding 3-0 series lead. The blew us out in game 5, ending our season...

The Thunder ended up beating the Bulls in the finals, in 7 games. Russ was the finals MVP.

In free agency, I decided to sign with the Bulls, my favorite team, looking to get them back to the finals. But that was before I found out D Rose got hit with the injury cheese.... However, he is still in the starting lineup, only -1 to his overall. Jimmy got moved to SF.

Pretty weird phenomenon… my players are actually healing from injury. Anthony Davis recovered from a pinched nerve in his back, Ryan Anderson recovered from a broken toe, and a generated 2nd year C is recovering from the cheesiest injury imo the "severely sprained ankle".

Did you start this career after third patch? if so that is why. If, not, all I got is lucky you.... my players stayed injured for four years before I gave up on my pg.

Mine too. This generated SG on my team has been injured with a sprained back or something like that for all 3 years of my 3-peat, and got the injury initially during the 2015-16 season. Weird thing is when he came back this season about a month into the season, he played a couple of games, then they traded Hardaway Jr. away(been starting since I got to NY), and now the generated SG is starting injury free. Thought I'd never see the day.

I started this career when the game came out btw.

On another note, I'm in the 2019-2020 season, and starting at the east and west Center spots are Jabari Parker and Lebron James. I was hoping because Big Al was the only Center voted in that he'd get the starting C spot, but oh well. Also, we(east) had Kevin Love starting at SF.
