Re: NBA 2K15 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

Just ragequit Game 5 of the Finals against the Spurs. After the first quarter we were up by 5 and at half time we were down by 3. I was 6-6 from the field and my team mates were hitting shots.

3rd quarter I go for an easy layup and miss it, next shot I go for is again a layup, get bumped by two players and the ball just flies in the air. No foul. By midway through the third quarter they were up by 15. What the hell? It's like the game believes in the magic of 7 game series when I'd rather not get absolutely slaughtered by BS and finish the game in 5 if possible. So stupid.

And game 6 too. I can't go in the paint without Dwight bumping me and sending me to the floor and I get nothing. This game is so full of BS in the finals it hurts. Can't get my shot to fall either but Kawhi Leonard is apparently the God of lockdown defense. Yet when I try to defend him he knocks down Js in my face. Kyrie can't handle Dragic because he's been injured for the entire season.

Holy good Lord god is great. Went into free agency and decided to opt out from Cleveland and go to Houston, after leaving them in my third season. This is our roster, it's insane.

        PG - Bowen, 77
        SG - Harden, 85
        SG - Me, 97
        PF - Sutton, 89
        C - Tinsley, 77
        6 - Early, 92
        7 - LeBron, 91

Both Early and LeBron are obviously small forwards. They basically have three of the four best 3s in the league, wow.

Where does LeBron/Early end up playing the most? 4?

Nope. Game 7 I shot 10-14 and got a triple double and we still couldn't win. Guess 2K just didn't want it to be that way haha.

@BAMFspecialops Early usually at SF, LeBron at PF. When I'm on the floor with them Early goes to SG and I go to SF. Sutton went down with a torn MCL in our third game of the season though, and the way injuries are in this game, he's basically ruined for life now, but LeBron will probably start at PF now.

Geez what a line up. On my SF I have maybe seen 10 mins at PF in my second year(few games before all star break). Hate it when Melo/Durant/Bron go to PF and go off

Durant is impossible to cover. I'm sure he had deadeye and limitless range so you try to block off the route to the paint and he drops a 28 footer and then when you try to cover the 3 he bursts past for a layup or dunk.

LeBron is now starting at power forward so hopefully he and I combine for a great partnership.

Really? He didn't cause me any problems in recent match up, again did most of his damage from playing the 4. I stand just behind the 3 point arc and take away the drive, contest the 3. First quarter before he switched to PF he was 0-6(I gathered 2 steals and a block on him in that time frame), gave up some in the 3rd but I was fine with that since he couldn't guard me at all

Well he's sort of less effective as my player has gotten better but in my first couple seasons (especially when I was in LA and Houston) he was so hard to guard. But he's 32 now in my game so he's regressing a bit so I can beat him 1-1 most times.

I'm struggling to adapt to a lesser role with this Houston team though. I want my team mates to fill the stat sheets because they're great players so I'm taking fewer shots. I feel like I'm playing terrible though. After 5 games im averaging 25 points, 19.4 rebounds and 10.6 assists which are obviously incredible numbers but I don't feel great right now. That said, in November last season i averaged season lows all round so maybe this is just for now and I'll improve as the season grows.

Second season on my SF and he is only 27, has never really gotten hot from outside so I give him that shot focused on taking away the first angle on the drive.

Bron is a whole nother story for me, that 'forcefield bump' when he starts to driives kills me all game, I pretty much have to play tight on him and keep the ball out of his hands unless he brings it up court.

Haha it's funny cos I could always guard LeBron. It's probably because my style of play is so similar to his, I'm first and foremost a slasher (although thanks to 2K removing the 'Finisher' badge that was in 2K14 it's a lot harder to make simple layups now if anybody is within 10 feet of you) and on defense I play more like a power forward or center by getting myself under the rim and blocking shots or putting opposing bigs under pressure.

I'm fine if I don't get that bump that throws you back and gives them a free lane to the basket while the other 4 'players' on the team just watch.. OOOOO what type of dunk is he gonna throw down?! Earned Posterizer after dunking on LeBron though haha

Re: NBA 2K15 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

Had the craziest scripted 5 overtime game against the Charlotte bobcats in my 6'8 SF's career. We were up by 3 with 7 seconds left and Kemba drained a game tying 3 right in Brandon Jennings' eye. I watched every OT from the bench because I was still trying to make the team then, and Brandon Jennings was on the bench for 3 of the 5 overtimes. That's how I knew the game was doing its scripted thing. I knew if we were gonna win, it was only gonna be if Brandon Jennings came back in the game(He was the only reason we were in the game in the first place).

So, the first OT is completely back and forth. Kemba hits a mid range shot in Reggie Jackson's eye, then Greg Monroe scores on the other end. Reggie Jackson drives to the paint and makes a layup, Al Jefferson gets fouled and hits two free throws. Wash, rinse, repeat. Then the game is tied with 10 seconds left and I'm put in for defense. Kemba gets the ball. I already know he's gonna make the shot if he gets it off so I wait for him to finish his move(luckily he was isolating on my side). He drives and starts to pull up, and I come over and block his shot to Canada. I know if I didn't block that shot, that it would've gone in. He just couldn't miss a jumper all game.

So now on to the second OT. Al Jefferson fouls out, and I'm like,"YES! There's hope now! No way it's still gonna be competitive if Big Al isn't in the game!"......Wrong. WRONG! I don't know if he has a beta dog badge or something like it, but Lance Stephenson went OFF after Jefferson fouled out. It was complete bull the way he went off too, he kept hitting contested 3 after contested 3.

I follow Lance Stephenson, I drafted him to my fantasy team, I know his percentages. He was so trash this year that I had to drop him, and I picked him up pretty darn early too(3rd or 4th round). No way it's in his ratings to hit 3s like that. If it wasn't the effects of a badge(or badges), then it was 2k craziness. I think he ended the game with 5 made 3s, all in the overtimes.

So in the 4th OT, Brandon Jennings is finally subbed back in the game. I was ready to turn the game off at this point. I mean, I started playing at 6:30. By the time the 4th overtime started it was after 9:00. I thought the game would conclude now since the scenario the game set up finally happened, the game could not end if Brandon was not in the game. So they start to pull away. I could care less who won or lost at this point, I just wanted the game to be over. Then Brandon Jennings' come back factor kicked in and he started hitting 3s in Kemba's face. He would just run up the court and pull up for 3 like Big Shot Billups and it would be nothing but net. So now we enter the 5th and final overtime.

Charlotte starts to pull away again, Kemba mid range, Lance's bull schnike 3s, etc. Then Brandon brings us back, and finally, after being trash the whole game, Tayshaun Prince, and Caldwell-Pope start to hit their open 3s, and we win the game. I collected my VC, quit out to the home menu, and immediately removed the disk. Then I went to sleep. I never wanna be a part of a game that long ever again.
