I watched it often, not always. I think the answer here is to improve the information and celebration of the Halftime show to engage more people, not get rid of it. If you're in MyCareer, MyGM or the playoffs of any game mode, the Halftime show has the potential to enhance the drama and focus on the raised stakes of the moment.

If people aren't watching the Halftime Show, it doesn't mean they don't want one. It might just mean that they don't want the one that's in the game currently. There are many great presentation additions in this year's game, but this is indeed a step back and a puzzling subtraction given all of the added tech and resources since NFL 2k5.

I think this thread might be a bit ill-advised. There's a reason why they removed it and didn't make a new one for this year. The whole controversy with Damon Bruce kinda force them to remove it, and when adding Shaq and Ernie they had that to focus och and record. Hard to have time for everything.
Pretty sure this will be back next year so I don't see a point in a thread like this.

I understand the Damon Bruce situation. But that's all speculation right now. However, we have heard from an official 2K employee on the matter as to why the halftime show was removed, so that's what this thread is focusing on: letting 2K know that presentation, too a lot of folks, is just as important as gameplay.

I think the more presentation options the better. If users don't like it they can skip.

So my vote is to bring it back if possible.

I did SKIP the Halftime show if you're talking about the highlights. As far as stats and highest scorers....i didn't skip that. The highlights wasn't that interesting...it seems redundant. They need to make it more interesting...maybe having Kenny doing the highlights and using chalkboard or something.

I thought they're going to do something to improve the show seeing that they have Shaq and Ernie...so that was a surprise. They should do that Halftime show w/ Kenny like they did in 2k7. Looking back, I can't believe even 2k7 BEAT 2k15 at halftime show...WOW. And this is next gen.

This makes a lot of sense, but with the statement that LD2k made in the other thread it made people think it was just something that got taken out due to the lack of people watching it.

I don't think just the fact that people skipped it they removed it, I think the whole Damon Bruce thing is the most probably.
People will be skipping the player introductions in time too but I don't think that will be removed.
A halftime show is something people want, in general. Let the people who want to skip it skip it and let the rest of us watch it.

Not having a halftime show really disgusts me. It was something that I didn't even worry about, after seeing the Shaq and Ernie trailer. I mean I assumed it was a given. It's like telling me Jay-Z is gonna be in the game, but then telling me that there's no Jay-Z songs. Or WWE 2k15 just omitting wrestler entrances... because "no one watches them".

There are a lot of things I don't care for in NBA 2k games, like this focus on My Player, The Crew, and all this other RPG type of stuff. I enjoy playing team basketball and controlling everyone on my roster. 2k seems to be going more in the direction of this single character experience which caters to VC. This focus is probably why we've been getting stripped of things in the actual 5 on 5 game.

I'm sure someone said the guy who does the VO's for the halftime show got into trouble or whatever, but that's just speculation. What we do know is the LD guy basically said it was cut because no one really watches it, which is not an excuse IMO. It's not like we're given this game for free as a gift from the VC Charitable Organization. We spend our hard earned $ on these games. And for someone like me who works hard to support my wife and son, spending $60 on a game is a luxury, so I think we have a right to voice our concerns.

I share the opinion of most here. Stop playing around with it and make a halftime show similar to NFL 2k5. And for the luv of god, can we get highlights from other games??? There's no excuse that something was done better on PS2 than PS4. I'm sure most people don't pay attention to the level of detail in games like The Last of Us, but it's still there because the devs care about immersion. It would be also nice to get a weekly or monthly Sportscenter type of show. That's something that would make a lot of us non My Player guys happy.

I completely agree with you, and the timing of the Damon Bruce situation, is a understandable reason for the halftime show to be lacking this year.

But looking at past features that 2k took away becuase they didnt get a lot of playing time it wouldn't be crazy for us to think that 2k wouldn't just scrap the haltime show due to skipping.

It's 2014 and 2k's presentation has gone backwards for what? To save space for those stupid casual game modes? Or lame MyDumbPlayer cutscenes? COME ON. The gameplay has improved so much it is a real shame presentation can't even compare to a 2007 game. Jesus

Yes, I will very much cosign on this. The Halftime show needs to return. This thread should not get looked over either. With all the threads topics I have seen and read the past years regarding crew mode, headbands, sock colors, shoe colors, jersey and other accessories a issue about presentation should be addressed. 2Ksports has always held to be the standard in two areas - GAMEPLAY and PRESENTATION. I've already been disappointed the past couple of years when 2K reduced the end of the quarter highlights, and signature highlights, but now halftime?? I understand if people did skip through them, but there are plenty of users like myself that enjoyed the halftime highlight show, I honestly watched it atleast 80% of the time. Someone mentioned in another topic that Madden 15 of all games may possibly have better presentation than 2Kbasketball???, it maybe true this year people and that kind of bothers me a little. Patch it in this year, or improve it or whatever it takes bring it back. I know the yearly dev cycle for games is crammed trying to put stuff in, but don't take out presentation and gameplay aspects of the game, we are on NextGen systems now... no excuses. If NFL2K5 on PS2 can have a great halftime presentation, there is no reason NBA2K15 couldn't at least keep the one they did have. At this point I feel like a halftime highlight show, end of quarter highlights, end of game highlights and signature highlights should be in NBA2K15. This presentation aspect not only makes it feel like your playing and watching a real NBA game, it orchestrates and tells the story of the game you are playing.

I can understand where you're coming from except for when you insult other game modes that other people enjoy and play. To you those are lame and stupid, to others not so much.

Regardless if people skip it or not, it's a pretty basic thing and should be in the game. I'd like to think that more thought/reason went into the decision to remove, rather than just people skipped it. Maybe just a PR move by LD on that.
