Not having a halftime show really disgusts me. It was something that I didn't even worry about, after seeing the Shaq and Ernie trailer. I mean I assumed it was a given. It's like telling me Jay-Z is gonna be in the game, but then telling me that there's no Jay-Z songs. Or WWE 2k15 just omitting wrestler entrances... because "no one watches them".

There are a lot of things I don't care for in NBA 2k games, like this focus on My Player, The Crew, and all this other RPG type of stuff. I enjoy playing team basketball and controlling everyone on my roster. 2k seems to be going more in the direction of this single character experience which caters to VC. This focus is probably why we've been getting stripped of things in the actual 5 on 5 game.

I'm sure someone said the guy who does the VO's for the halftime show got into trouble or whatever, but that's just speculation. What we do know is the LD guy basically said it was cut because no one really watches it, which is not an excuse IMO. It's not like we're given this game for free as a gift from the VC Charitable Organization. We spend our hard earned $ on these games. And for someone like me who works hard to support my wife and son, spending $60 on a game is a luxury, so I think we have a right to voice our concerns.

I share the opinion of most here. Stop playing around with it and make a halftime show similar to NFL 2k5. And for the luv of god, can we get highlights from other games??? There's no excuse that something was done better on PS2 than PS4. I'm sure most people don't pay attention to the level of detail in games like The Last of Us, but it's still there because the devs care about immersion. It would be also nice to get a weekly or monthly Sportscenter type of show. That's something that would make a lot of us non My Player guys happy.

So it's 2014 and I'm playing College Hoops 2k8, and I'm enjoying season preview shows, half-time shows, post-game shows, weekly wrap-ups and selection sunday shows.
It's 2014 and 2k's presentation has gone backwards for what? To save space for those stupid casual game modes? Or lame MyDumbPlayer cutscenes? COME ON. The gameplay has improved so much it is a real shame presentation can't even compare to a 2007 game. Jesus

Couldn't have said it any better guys its sad really.. You would think that they would learn from nfl 2k5 & college hoops 2k8 (ps2, ps3).. Clearly mycareer and the park was the focus this year & that's sad because the game is called NBA 2K not MYPARK 2K.. There's nothing else to say I'm still getting the game..

Again...Just here to support this cause but within a dedicated thread I'll elab a bit.

So I'm already worried all the backlash (If it can be measured as such) is going to lead to the return of an "improved" halftime show next year...Yea ok...But then I come back to my original point...Now we're at another year where instead of getting a postgame show and/or a weekly wrap-up show everyone is celebrating the returning halftime show and not focusing on progression in the presentation.

LET ME BE FAIR...What has been done this year with the pregame+ is progression, I take nothing away from the 2K team on that! But I always felt the presentation NEVER ties into the rest of the league, Nothing talking about the upcoming draft prospects, nothing talking about other teams in the league who are surging, MVP candidates, playoff pictures, injuries, other game highlights...ALL of this to make me feel like im in MYLeague and not just my game.

And that's just featured shows I'm talking about, so much stuff is missing from in-game presentation that I could blog about for 365 days a year. But let me again be clear...Great job this year 2K, LD2k, leftos, Dave, Da_Czar, etc I just wish SOMEONE there cared as much about all the things I bolded just as much as I do.

Yeah. I don't think 2K want to get in bed with Damon Bruce at the moment. They just may try to nab the TNT license and completely implement the whole crew. Including change-up the commentary/add someone in. Albeit, Reggie Miller. Either way... the Damon Bruce situation is probably the reasoning. LD2K did say for reasons he can't disclose (hence "legal situation").... unless the was referring to the headband ordeal.

I guess I'm kind of shock because if there is one aspect of there game I wouldn't expect to take a step backwards, would be the presentation. Like I mentioned earlier, we should have a halftime show, end of quarter highlights, signature highlights, around the league highlights during season/franchise or NBA Today games. Halftime show being removed is just shocking, you would think who ever at 2K is in charge of the presentation aspect of the game, probably would have fought for this to stay in the game.

Even if they couldn't get Damon Bruceb they could have kept highlights..
This really blows, it seems they are always that close to greatness but always mess it up with dumb decisions.

Maybe they just dumped him and never got around to finding a good replacement.

It should be back next year, but I can see why the reason they stated halftime was removed is receiving flack

The Halftime show being taken out this year hit me hard, but its more so the highlights not being shown then actual commentary that I will miss at halftime.

Hopefully the addition of Ernie and Shaq in the pregame show is a stepping stone towards them adding a more in depth halftime show in future games, thats the only thing thats giving me a bit of confidence.

Yes. I would have been okay with a simple "Let's take a look at the highlights from the game." by Ernie and some inane comment from Shaq if a full halftime show couldn't be implemented in time. They could have just left the existing highlight system in.

I hate that the game isn't out yet and we already on hold for next year. Cause no halftime show and Kerr still doing color, is disappointing. Maybe that's why we never heard about presentation this year. Is the NBA Today still in the game?

It would be nice if they patch the halftime show in the game.

Every year there is always something taking away and something added. Maybe next year, you won't see the Shaq and Ernie pre-game show lol while they add a cool Halftime Show LOL...and people will be like...why the heck they took away Shaq and Ernie pre-game...

I would like to see the halftime show return. But only if they add more to it. Like giving us musings from "around the league"; like the rumor mill ( include the reasons and potential destinations. This info is already generated in the rumor mill tab) , coach hot seats, disgruntled players, front office ultimatums, award front runners; how the fictional draft prospects are performing, etc. Otherwise I would rather not have anything because I buttoned through it too because there was nothing pertinent there for me. I'm already in-tuned to the game I'm playing. Why would I want to watch it a 2nd time; especially if I'm already playing 12 min quarters?

Very disappointed. I don't get their thinking. We been begging for year's for them to improve the presentation to get it as close to their NFL2K5 presentation. Oh well, let see what they will add or take-away! next year. SMH

Shame on you 2K you should be ashamed of yourselves!!!

I hope the pennies you pinched on this decision is worth backlash
of upsetting so many loyal fans who've been with you since day 1.

Considering 2K14 on the new consoles was basically a year long demo
with horrific servers and 2K12 was the worst game in the games history
you guys better bring your "A" game for 2K15.

Laziness and bad decision making is why MLB 2K, NHL 2K and
the great tennis game are now extinct.

I've been ride and die with you guys since NBA and NFL 2K on Dreamcast
since 1999 and I'm gonna be brutally honest with you guys and that is you need to pick it up.
