Watching strangers play in a game we don't care about makes the wait that much worse. Let us shoot around, practice dribble moves against our teammates, play 21 ... something.
I agree having other things to do besides spectating would be a good option but it also can diminish the incentive for waiting. What I mean is, if the main premise of the mode is to create a certain environment, in this case people that are willing to watch games, wait for next and try to hold the court, then anything that detracts from that, can diminish the mode.

Then don't go in the Park. Not being glib. It's just the simple truth. If you guys just want to go play quick online games immediately, you don't want this mode.
I definitely feel this and to continue my point from above, I think the issues with this mode, require the addition of another "rec" or court type in a patch or NBA2k16, not removing or modifying this one.

I'm all for anyone voicing their issues and trying to lobby for something they find enjoyable but some are coming across like just because they don't like the mode, it has no merit. I like what I'm hearing about "got next" and it will potentially be my main way of enjoying NBA2k15 because I think it will attract the type of gamers and games a enjoy playing.

I don't see what's dumb about it though. What you and some others seem to actually want is a Jordan Rec mode, without the wait, which is fine but that's a different mode, which is fine too. All Boilerbuzz seems to be saying is, then ask for a different mode, not try to run the current one in the ground as if it has no merit, to anyone.

Lol, maybe I'm being too optimistic but I like the premise of watching from the sideline with my teammates, scouting and possibly gameplanning through voice chat, for whichever team wins. I think that's a realistic element this mode inherently brings, without having to bother with the console broadcast system.

I am talking about the"Oh, since you don't like this, well don't play the mode" attitude.

Most people in here obviously want to play the mode, but do hate that we have to wait 30-50+ mins for a game or however long it takes for the park. People that played Park complained about waiting as well. But to combat it they lower the score to 15. People still do not want to wait.

We wouldn't be so upset if we didn't care. We love playing with our MPs but since we don't like something, we should not play the mode at all? Like ManiacMatt said, that was spot on, if I wanted to watch people play, I'd watch Twitch.

I am sure you had a big issue with the gameplay or a mode you overall like and complained about it, but still played it.

Maybe I explained myself poorly so I'll try one more time. "Got next" seems to be an key part of the MyPark mode, so if anyone has an issue with that element, they should be lobbying for a different mode. However, what some have done ITT is basically rant about how "got next"/waiting has no merit, to anyone, which is just not true.

Maybe 2k feels that removing the wait from MyPark diminishes the intent of the mode and if so, I agree. That's why they have other modes in the game that don't have waits. I'm all for options when applicable but in this case, with this mode, it seems those options would undermine the intent of the mode.

I also believe in options and I know sometimes I will want to watch a good game. But it should be optional. If I want to stand around and "get next" into that game I'm watching or start up immediately to a random game, I should be able to. The people that sees for example a team on a winning streak and wants a piece of that team should do the "Got Next" and wait for that game to end. But the people that just want to play anyone, it should just start like it did last gen.

I think most people think it's pretty cool, but who wants to do that all the time. Maybe while I am eating on something or just unwinding will I want to just watch a game. I've started the game up to most likely play.

I don't see why they need to make a totally different mode. Most people want this exact stuff besides having to wait. Me, I would love a new mode, which is Crew instead of the Jordan Rec mode that is basically a watered down version of Crew.

Why would they? The only benefit to this system is waiting.

If people are ok with disappearing from the actual park they were in, that's one thing. But that breaks the illusion. WOW does this with phasing the world boss raids. That's the ONLY way you reduce waits. But the problem in basketball is that people are VERY selective in who they play with. If a brown shirt phases into your team, do you bail? Now you are just phasing in squads. That COULD work. But since this is their first volley into this style of online play, I doubt it's ready for phasing and all the tools needed to do it.
You can't play against other teams in team-up unless you arrange them with a 3rd party system like MLG. Which defeats the purpose since it means there's going to be more waiting than there would playing a crew/pro clubs mode.

But the social dynamic of seeing your next opponent, or holding a court for that matter, is lost.
How would the park qualify as a realm? There are several instances of the park going on on the servers at the same time. Nothing about the park has any permanence.

Edit: and the attitude in the post above is the mentality that keeps gaming stagnant. Are you for real?
How you can be so condescending is amazing. It's a glorified 3D chat room. There is nothing new about it.

If there was a crew mode, I would play it no question. But 2K thinks this is an acceptable version of it. It's not.

I do not like waiting for games, but the main thing I'm worrying about is I have 1 friend that plays 2k with me, so if it's just me and him wanting to get into a Jordan Rec game, and we are sitting on got next with 4/5 spots filled waiting for the game to end, will 5 people in a squad just snatch our spots up? What's the point of the got next spots if a squad can come in a que up even though us and 2 other guys have been waiting for 20 minutes?

Re: The Real Problem with "Got Next"

I see the got next being a big problem in the Jordan Rec Center. People are gonna want to play it 24/7. If 2k could change it to where only 60 people are in a center then it would be a lot better.

40 people playing and 20 people waiting.

Having to wait an hour just to play a game is too long. Most of the problem when 2k15 release is gonna be with the Rec Center. Most people would would rather have matchmaking, me included.

But when it comes to MyPark and playing at the 3 outside courts then it not really a problem. A 8-12 minute wait is not that bad. Just hope none of the problem with you being kicked off your spot is not there.

Well you won't really have to worry about that too much if your both good at the game. The reason why I say that is people are always gonna be looking for people to team up with. So I would recommend y'all both play a lot of MyPark, and ask people if they want to squad up with yall. Also look for people with Mic.
